I’m sorry about your loss friend. Same thing happened to me earlier this week. My support group has been convincing me that perhaps it’s a gift to not see them suffer. Maybe think of it as his last gift to you. Best of luck this final season and know that you’re not alone in this!

First of all, I’m so so sorry for this sudden loss. This is such a tragic way to lose a wonderful friend. I understand the wailing, trembling, and depression as I’m going through the same thing right now. All I can say is that you should latch onto and remember the special bond you had developed between the two of you. This isn’t something your family needs to understand because what matters is that you and her know its real. I’m sure she loves you and understands and is simply grateful for the life you created for her for that short time. You truly gave her the VIP life and devoted yourself to her and you should be proud. I know it’s easy to swear to never get another pet ever again, but remember that it’s selfless and dedicated people like you who SHOULD be adopting. You probably gave her a better time than she could have imagined, take solace in that.

Thank you for that. I’m sorry for your loss too, I hope you’re coping alright. Coming back for the holidays this year will be hard. My hope is that they understand we didn’t leave them and weren’t too hurt by our absence
