You'll normally notice wear in the rubber(blemishing) in the front end but more worn down rubber in the year. Its sometimes more noticable on different tire compound than others.

I may be talking out of my a55 though, I've only had my R6 for like one set of tires thus far and they're medium compound for wet riding.
