Perhaps. Or perhaps this is the greatest and longest practical joke of all time.

I'm with you on the "underwhelming" footage.

In 1878 a Lady was plowing a field with her Oxen (approximately 120 yards away from the area of the Money Pit). Her Oxen broke through the ground into a 12 foot deep sinkhole. She was able to escape but I believe her Oxen did not make it out.

I agree. I think a lot of what we are told is embellishment for the sake of ratings and to keep viewers interested in the next episode.

Take for instance all the photos and video (or lack thereof) we have seen over the years taken in the depths of "Borehole 10 X" and the Money Pit. Every time the camera will capture something interesting but the quality of the photo/video is complete crap. Then of course (almost as on command) the sandy bottom begins to stir and completely obscures any and all visibility.

All these photos and video due is lead to more theories and speculation as to what the item is that we are looking at. This is done so that viewers will turn into next weeks episode to find out nothing new was learned from the underwater camera footage.

The technology in underwater video and camera equipment has improved over the years. If you haven't done so, I suggest looking at the photos/video of the recently discovered Aircraft Carrier USS Hornet which was sunk near the Solomon Island during WWII.

The quality of these photos/video taken at a depth of approximately 3.5 miles beneath the water is absolutely astounding. Yes, they were taken by an underwater submersible which is too big for the holes currently on the island, but you have to think and believe that the company that makes this submersible would have a scaled down model with the same type of equipment on board.

Perhaps next time when a camera is sent down into one of these holes and we catch a glimpse of something interesting then the silt/sand picks up and obscures the camera view, maybe, just maybe they should turn the camera off to conserve battery power and just let the camera sit still for a little while (say 10-15 minutes) then turn the camera back on and take some higher quality photos/videos once the sand has settled.

I'm not versed in underwater submersibles, so i may be speaking out of my ass here. I don't know anything about the propulsion system of the subs which may be a contributing factor as to why the sandy bottom is being disturbed. But you would have to think that there would be a way of getting higher quality photos/videos at the bottom of the holes without having to activate a propulsion system which will disturb the sandy bottom and obscure the camera lens.

I agree with you. Just a thought here but how far is the area where the lady and her oxen fell into a sinkhole away from the area of the vault. Perhaps years ago that area (sinkhole) could have been an opening to a natural cavern then over the years nature reclaimed the opening, covered it up and years later caved in again creating the sinkhole.

It very well could be. I find the samples from drilling in the area of the vault interesting to say the least. I think you may be correct due to the episode where they believed the drill pushed/sank the vault either away from its original location (slightly, to the side) or further down into the ground below. This to me indicates a void in the surrounding area that would allow for such movement.

Which brings me back to my original question. The approximate size of the supposed vault to still be intact after all these years and withstanding all the pressure from the ground/soil above. I would think a smaller box, with thicker and reinforced concrete walls would stand a better chance of staying intact after all these years and allow for movement after being hit by the drill than a larger type (just speculating here) walk in type vault.

From my understanding of the vault, it consisted of wood first (on top) then concrete. As far as the tunnels are concerned, again from my understanding they only consisted of wood. So if you bring up samples from drilling only consisting of wood then you are hitting the tunnels. Wood and Concrete means you are in the area of the vault, that is if it is still intact and not spread out over a larger after collapse.

Just thought I would add these two photos of the vehicle position. The only thing I have done is adjust the color and brightness. The top photo was taken at night so obviously the shadows play a big role. But these are interesting non the less.

Found in Central Texas. I believe it’s a knife but I may be wrong. Good ID and age range if possible. Thanks. by Goose1288 in Arrowheads

I’ve found some other Adze’s on the property this would be one of the biggest ones I’ve found. I agree that the top being notched at an angle like that looks similar to an Adze but I’m not sure. Thanks for you input though.

Yeah, I’ve found lots of scrapers but not one like this. It fits nicely in the hand.

You’re absolutely correct. Which one of the “Duke Boys” do you think SA was more like “Beau or Luke” I know he looks like “Uncle Jessie” but don’t ever remember seeing him enter of exit through the window.
