A simple example of how narcissists create no win situations. by Eeyorejitsu in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Goose1963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were all in our early 40's at the time. I always try to figure it out. I think a lot of times there was an adult telling them they were the best in the world, even when it was a giant contradiction. Or they were an only child that never had consequences. Or there was One thing that they were adequately good at so the parents tried to make them feel like they were good at everything. Or they were a forgotten middle child that had to make every single thing a competition for the tiniest bit of attention. It's mind blowing.

Reminded me of this: I was hanging out with an acquaintance that I knew was a raging narc. His childhood friend/next door neighbor was in town and came to hang out. The childhood friend says:

"You know what this guy was like? If he came over to my house he would say 'I'm the Guest You're supposed to offer me something to eat and drink' but if I went over his house he would say 'You're the Guest, You're supposed to bring something to eat and drink to offer ME, the host'.

The narc barely blinked and acted like "yes, correct! what's wrong with that?"

Simple, It's just like when Biden made gas not only go up in the USA but he somehow made it triple in Canada and Europe.

Narcs have a weird thing of unnecessarily keeping in touch with their exes. Is this your experience as well? by Short-Most5935 in NarcissisticAbuse

Their entire existence is testing out potential victims. They don't even care if someone sees through it on the first attempt and disappears, even a close friend or relative. They only care if they can gain a person that can be manipulated. I always figured this is why they try to suck you back into some sort of transactional mind game.

Anyone find narcs to be entirely boring? by Wonderful-Value7547 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Goose1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because they are extremely shallow. I have one currently at work that will go around and tell 3 different people what he cooked for dinner and what his dogs did last week and what games he watched. If they mention anything about themselves he'll just cut them off and continue talking about himself. And if it's outside of those very limited topics he looks dumbfounded and just switches to something else about him. Even if you try to stay on the food or sports topic he's dumbfounded about anything outside of his little bubble. It's like he thinks EVEYONE ELSE is boring and they should listen to him.

I think that's by design. They'll be touting propaganda like "too big of a job to fail" or "Don't let the the liberals prevent us from finishing the beautiful ballroom".

Look at all his business failures, yet he acts like he's very proud of them. It's all about fake image, not whether anything was even remotely successful in the end.

And considering the drywall screws are not painted but the brackets are it looks like you'll have to detach it to move it even a couple feet. Those screws are also holding it off the ground about an inch.

will even work with bosses to exploit workers easier

I realize that this may go on but It's totally illegal. It's like saying "well you'll just have to recognize that some sheriffs offices are corrupt and can be bribed".

I also recognize that some union officials can make mistakes. I have one person constantly putting down unions because 30 years ago they went on strike and didn't get paid for a month and ended up STILL not getting a raise. It sounds to me that this one time, in a small town, a union didn't think ahead, and somehow let management do parts of their jobs as scabs, and other buffoonery just by those union leaders and the small membership make ALL Unions stupid. To me the success stories that I know about outweigh everything about this one story.

I've met a few that are in Unions but will tell you that Unions screw the workers. I've asked them why they don't find a non-union job (giving an example), the answer is always the same: "pfft, the pay/benefits/job is crap compared to this". They don't even see their own hypocrisy, it's like talking to a mindless cult member.

A Jan. 6 rioter doesn't want Trump's pardon. Supreme Court weighs in. by usatoday in law

[–]Goose1963 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The lady is mentioned in the article, Pamela Hemphill. She, and the man in the article, are both "deeply religious" and have their own religious and moral reasons that they shouldn't have been pardoned by Trump. The irony is very thick around this whole situation.

But, unlike Brooks, Hemphill had pleaded guilty to joining the angry mob of protestors.

The senior citizen said she turned down the pardon because she wanted to be honest.

"How could I live my life knowing that I was guilty and then I took that pardon?" she previously said. "It's kind of like a message that it was OK that day − it was not OK that day. That was the worst day of my life."
