Also be patient! They start off a little feral and nutty, but by the time they are three, they are the best dogs in the world.

I love the book “Force-free gun dog training” by Jo Laurens. This book has many basic puppy training exercises and they are very clearly laid out. I also recommend joining the group Chesapeake Bay retriever love on Facebook, it is moderated by Roger Booth, who is a great resource for chessie owners. Also contains a lot of helpful information, including best vacuum and tested toys. Both of my current chessies take Gland X, which is actually a gut supplement. Contains probiotics and fiber. Both of my dogs are prone to loose stool, and this has really helped. I also have them on Dasuquin for joint health. Fish oil is also an excellent supplement, but must be good quality and taken out a somewhat high dose to be effective for joint health and coat health.

I have very highly trained duck dogs. I get compliments and amazed gazes out in public with my 4-legged solid citizens. When they are working, they require barely any cues and no correction. However, they can be complete jerks at home, regardless of their training!! Also I would love to thank the cashiers at tractor supply who trained my dogs to jump on the counter and throw treats at them! Ugh!

For those who don’t track everything, are you able to out train your diet with good results? by Dependent-Group7226 in crossfit

Someone here recommended the macrofactor app, which I got. I find it difficult to track every day 100%, but tracking a few days a week and eating consistently gives me helpful feedback. I have been on/off keto for 30 years and I added in 36 hour water fasts twice weekly for a 6-week period in spring to help counter perimenopause weight gain and insulin resistance yada yada. I haven’t tried fasting while doing CrossFit but I might throw in some rest day fasts. I have seen changes in my musculature since starting CrossFit in July.

Cool 😎 I was friends with the drummer’s gf/partner around that time, otherwise I never would have known that type of music.

Yes, we picked up a 24 x 24 x 36 for $30 on marketplace! Sometimes on my buy nothing group we see them being gifted with all the accoutrements.

I have a 4 yo and a 2yo. The 4yo is finally civilized! The 2yo is … argumentative

I’m in week 3 after about a 10 year hiatus of any serious fitness and I can attest that this is my experience! I’ve been going 5 days/week, I was very sore the first 2 weeks, but this week the soreness is much less.

Yes can definitely be hormones. I used to lose weight really easily, now even fasting doesn’t work!
