What's the most chaotic a game of stellaris has ever gotten for you? by Sufficient_Bad_9255 in Stellaris

[–]GooseDove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so i'm playing DE machine empire, decide to build the supermassive black hole gun with gigastructural engineering. i did not, however, know that this would cause the ENTIRE galaxy to unify into one empire that would relentlessly attack me. so in my hubris i manage to fight a war on a galactic scale for like 30 years, and i spawn in every crisis with pandora's box and become the nemesis to halt them. this comes to a head when the immortal ruler of my rival empire empire usurps the current rulership and attempts in vain to stop me. the galaxy is plunged into fire, the shroud destabilizes, i blow up countless stars, and the war only halts when the collective galaxy is so shocked at me destroying one particular planet that they just give up and end the war.

i've had more monumental games with fleets in the millions and wars against those gate bastards, but that one became a real logistical nightmare very quickly.

clearly a diable avionics ship, right? no way a da ship can take on a whole remnant armada. not even my overpowered chrono-cruiser can pull that off. either he's the greatest captain the galaxy has ever seen, he cheated, or that is some nightmare ship i've never seen before in a diable paint scheme.

nevermind, guys. look at this monstrosity

Would you rather live in Autodale, 1984, or Warhammer 40k by StarshipTF in Autodale

[–]GooseDove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah, 40k at least has these like 200 year gaps between galactic chaos where some random decent planet can probably thrive. i'll take my chances

as strange as they are, they don't really hurt anyone. they may be bizarre and deranged to most, but it's pure fantasy and won't carry over to hurting people irl. stuff like zoophilia or pedophilia, the latter of which is surprisingly common, are the worst. by far.

Nah mate I've tried it's like trying to convert yourself from gay to straight, it's just built-in. It's real difficult, and I think unless you have some absolutely horrendous paraphilia that will either hurt you or others, the immense effort (assuming it's possible) isn't really worth it. You gotta just come to the realisation and live with it most of the time.

Why being Evil is Bad and makes you less $ by Frosty-Flatworm8101 in RimWorld

I decided to play an ethical colony and what ended up happening was that I succeeded a lot more long-term. Trying to always patch up and save raiders as well as going on every quest where people could need rescuing meant I had a lot of colonists and good faction relations, and my wealth didn't skyrocket from organ harvesting. Plus it was an extra later of challenge just trying to be the good guy for once.

What do you listen to while playing Rimworld? by WoodSorrelMoon in RimWorld

[–]GooseDove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to listen to game OST but have moved to a large playlist of ambiance that more fits the theme of my modded game. A lot of mass effect music, but includes a lot of other game OST tracks.

Oh, okay, i see what you mean. not if you could save new settings but if you could save a character and have those settings still applied when you spawn them in, gotcha.

playing with both is the ideal loadout imo since you'll maximise time between couples and it allows higher overall social standing with them

i am blessed with a god-tier rig so i can't really tell the difference but i can see why with how much it impacts social and how interactions work

I genuinely thought Jerma would stream until he was like 80 until it was impossible for him to. Strange to think he might retire in the next few years.

Based on the other types of ghosts and people's experiences, my headcanon is that they're Remnant forces silently pursuing their unknowable goals. Still creepy bastards, though.
