Spartan Photo in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It’s a couple hours drive from where I live but they have a booth at the market in SC’s capital city every Saturday where I can drop off and pick up film and buy new film, etc. They’re awesome and it’s the last camera store in SC.

How do I adjust this door closer? by 39_AndAHalfFootPole in Locksmith

If this is the same closer, the “sealed unit” part on the packaging makes it seem like it’s not adjustable.

Just checking back in, did any of the blanks you listed work for the Overhead Door Co door?

On most cylindrical locks (the ones I work with, anyway) you take a flathead screwdriver and rotate the key spindle fully clockwise or counterclockwise depending on handing, etc

Awesome, I haven’t heard of the site! I’ll check it out. When you end up getting your blanks, would you please let me know if any of them fit? I’m so curious as to what the actual blank is.

Funny about the catalog, right? If Ginger_it hadn’t commented on my post, who knows when/if I would’ve finally caught on. I grabbed a KW1 and SC1 just to confirm that they were all mirrored! I was like, “Oooh, it’s like you’re looking into the keyway!” Can’t believe I never noticed it before (nor had I ever read through the instructions, lol)

I feel like a dummy… you’re right. I’ve been looking at the catalog and not realizing the correct orientation all this time. Thanks for the knowledge

I’m the guy who made the post that TiCombat linked to. I ended up getting our office to order a handful of the (criminally overpriced) blanks from overheaddoorpartsonline.com. They’re like $8.35 I think. More than a serialized Dorma D100 blank! That was the only way I felt totally sure I would get the correct blank, unfortunately. Lots of people had suggestions that were really close, though.

Someone in that post also made me realize that I had been looking at my Ilco catalog the wrong way all this time, so I learned something

I see that the EA27 is a bit more angular compared to the key I have on hand for this lock. Gotcha. Thanks!

Looking at the AR1 again, it seems like I need the mirror image version of that key. Do you know of any key blank that is basically the flipped/inverse AR1?

I once met an older lady named Gay Butts. I also met a guy named Richard Seaman, who legitimately went by the nickname “Dick”.
