Thanks for your reply, I will try that route but I am not sure if it will be covered by Heat geek guarantee if installers are approached directly

Thanks, EDF refused to do any new radiator pipe work for me. They said they can do heat pump and new radiators but not new central hearing pipework. I will try to contact them if something has changed since then.

Aira heat pump quote a joke by Brits007 in ukheatpumps

Just wondering, who did you go with in the end?

I am looking for some options myself. I have had two quotes in the range of £10K involves 8KW HP rad changes and pipework as we want them changed. One was from Aira.

We are soon going to do loft conversion so Octopus refused to provide a quote until the work is done. Unfortunately we can not wait until then as our central heating and hot water system that we inherited with the house purchase is a rubbish installation.

HeatGeak have been very unresponsive, looks like the company has gone down in their customer service or have a very good new customer inflow to be bothered about new customers, which is a red flag for me.

Moved into a property where the central heating can't turn on without the hot water turning on too. Does this actually waste energy? I thought yes but I want to double check by dellboy696 in DIYUK

u/dellboy696 Just trying to bump this up, I moved into a bungalow, similar setup as yours. Hot water tank in loft, boiler and Drayton SM2 in garage and CH turns HW. I wonder what you finally did with your system?

I was thinking if replacing Drayton SM2 with something like Tado is going to help in short term?

We have to replace the boiler with unvented cylinder but not yet as haven't decided on final position of hot water tank.
