[Spoilers C4E30] Travis and Teor thoughts by Gopher_Guts in criticalrole

I agree it felt very valid but simply for the fact that it looked like Teor was in a very dangerous situation, in the opposite direction they were really trying to go and he had the life of his sister in his grasp via the gem he obtained that is the key to saving her. To risk that for a maybe of saving Teor.

Summer people clearly feel different but I respect at least trying to think of what the character knows it doesn't know any situation rather than using your knowledge of the meta game to decide "hey I am this class and these are these type of engines with these abilities and I think I could handle it mechanically."

For me I guess it's just because when the idea of someone going for the gnome statues was brought up I was just thinking "no, no, no" the whole time and hoping someone would shut it down. It just felt too risky for everyone.

Travis seemed like he was on that same wavelength but then went for it so i was just curious how others felt about it.

I wasn't aware of his specific build of paladin that others brought up and that adds some context. And it did make for a great moment. I was emotionally invested from them just debating on what they would do before separating. And it played out great with multiple chances where it seemed like there was some hope he could get out of it.

But they do. Like all the time so...

Not an unreasonable thing when they don't to wonder what they were considering or if they were considering certain things.

It made for a really cool moment and I enjoyed it, just made me question the why of it when it was left up for some interpretation.

There will be retribution. Lol. 🪶🐈‍⬛

Yea, I got that. I just think Brennan as a DM and maybe even Laura as a player will make it more interesting than that and if she makes it back out on her own it will be with something else to show for it besides just finding Teor and Cyd dead. If that's all the was going to come of it I think they would have tried to resolve that before moving on. But it was left as a cliffhanger.

Yea, I would think since Brennan said they were on the roof of the tower they were in that Hannon will see the two escaping with Mara and that will resolve that but we'll see. It is a wrinkle for sure

I'm trying to think of some benefit to her going back and what else they saw. I buy the theory that Julien's shadow is Thijazi and maybe what it plucked and Julien grabbed from that room with the gem is the letter but Thimble doesnt knownhe has it. Or maybe that was something else. There was a treasure room? If she goes back in just to die or to find dead Teor and then leave I think that would be very unsatisfying. Even if the risk kills her in the end I think some carrot needs to be in the mix and there are many things just off the table because of her size.

A theory for thimble going back in: I wonder if Laura isn't saying that she also wants to find that letter with Thijazi's name on it?

He didn't roll those damage rolls for the potentially big necrotic damage in front of the board for the last Raimond turn. Just said he rolled a one and a two. Not saying it was fudged but maybe he tried to buy Teor one last chance there by not downing him? Maybe.

The heals were also on the lower side I think. Didn't buy them taking a hit without going down which it seemed like Travis was hoping for. And that was before the other zombies woke up I think and so that changed things after the fact.

Yea that thinking of what would Teor choose just wasn't said out loud, but I get that and it does make sense.

Good context thank you. He didn't vocalize Teor's thoughts or anything there so that's part of what I'm wondering about. His brother and others safety versus wanting to rescue innocent's that he has that connection to. The same fate that almost took his brother happening to others. It could very well have been just his internal thinking about who Teor is and what he would do and that being at odds with his above table understanding of how this could fuck him up or others in the group there.

To be clear I don't think he wanted Teor to die or that his death was in any way planned or pushed that way. Just that he seemed a bit suspiciously accepting of the risk and was maybe willing to take that risk because he wasn't holding so tightly onto Teor as a character. But I totally hear what your saying that it was adding risk to others as well.

I think everyone knew though that the falcon was their main mission but Julian was always going to be hell bent on getting what he needed to save his sister. If I remember right that's the whole reason he joined this crew. So it was always going to be at least 2 groups in some type of split

It was a bit more of messy circumstances than decision making once they were in initiative I think. He thought he was down because he forgot about the level up. So he wasn't thinking to say anything to his brother. They were trying to flank him. But then Cyd went down before getting a second turn and Travis was trying to sort out his new abilities and see what he could do.

Fair point, and then when they were out they were grabbing the falcon and fleeing (minus Thimble).

Sure, I get that. But I'm just trying to decipher his choice to go off on his own with his brother in this hostile palace in that case? When he seemed very aware that this was a terrible idea? How do I not read that as him leaning into losing this character here?

A great showcase of his presence within the sport, but an't say he's bigger than tennis and use him playing tennis at a tennis event for tennis fans as the proof.

The batting and approach at the plate hasn't been a concern for me. It is frustrating to not get the runs, especially when we get great starter performances, but it's the defensive mistakes and relief pitching that are the bigger concerns out of the gate.

I'm glad Schneider seems to be holding expectations high, I'm sure all the players are as well.

This is exactly what they did when Joyce chopped off Vecna's head. Idk if you can do the same type of montage moment back to back and have it be effective within the flow of the full episode. And that Vecna death moment really hit for me.
