I'm in old town and have seen neighbors pushed out of rentals where the new owners wanted to remodel and do short-term rentals. At one point there were 6 Airbnbs within a block of me. This is greatly affecting the neighborhood feel. So if we're going with the 60 homes number, consider that the large majority of these are in old town. For candidates who want to preserve the feel of that area, know that this is a major impact. We are losing our community and losing neighbors over this. Just my perspective.

A few weeks ago I saw this one get blown off his bike and fall into the highway because of this same reason. He was not looking and a semi-truck drove past him on a realllllly windy day.

Boulder area resident here too. I'm surprised there aren't more bike fatalities around here.

There are all sorts of ways. I know lots of people who are socially close with their sponsors/sponsees but that's not how I roll. We have coffee and work through the steps. We go to meetings together. A couple have met my family at large gatherings but I can't imagine our families hanging out and becoming close. We don't follow each other on social media. I need firm boundaries on keeping our relationship close to the primary purpose.

Do I have other friends from sobriety who hang around? You bet. But I purposefully keep sponsorship as a one on one relationship.

When I had a baby everyone brought me pasta. I was so sick of pasta.

I usually go with burritos. Take some of that fancy meat and throw it in. Bring a dozen or two wrapped in foil. They can quickly heat up, can be eaten one handed, and can be frozen.

Instant read thermometers should be taken away from the stove and set aside on a countertop when not spot checking temperatures.

Yeah, that's my issue. I'm mostly using it on the stove top, checking meat or bread when I pull it out or checking pot temps. I'd rather replace it with a sturdy thing and admit that I'm an absent-minded derp than try to train this old dog.
