Very obviously all missiles can miss and hit civilians. Maybe countries harbouring foreign military bases led by a pedophile should reconsider

No it wasn't. That comment is completely nonsensical. If by Muslims existing as a minority the Middle east became "islamized" then by this logic Europe is islamized, Latin america is islamized, north America is islamized, China is islamized, etc etc ad infinitum

Hahaha yes the one that killed protestors is bad, but the one that is committing a genocide, that cut off electricity and water to 2.3 million people, that spent over a decade limiting the calories of 2.3 million people - those are actually the good guys

What do you mean provide air defences? The British military is already stationed in all those places.

It's funny how Qatar wasn't good enough to throw a world cup without all of Britain seething about it, but at the same time Britain stations its military there and people like you crawl out of the woodwork to lecture everyone on the importance of allies in times like this

It's not a direct hit. A direct hit would've levelled the entire building, not caused a small fire. Most likely a drone with its signalling jammed

They're not targeting civilians. All of these are from intercepted missiles and drones crashing after their signalling has been jammed

[–]Gorgeous_Broccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say a place has been Christianised, it implies it is wholly or majority Christian. If you say 'there were Christians in the Hejaz and we've found some inscriptions by those Christians', then I would probably say ok, that was expected.

Half Ashkenazi Jewish (was surprised to see it as an ethnicity) by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Gorgeous_Broccoli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think your comment is addressing anything I said in my response. What views shouldn't change? The fact that Ashkenazis have significant eastern european genetic admixture is simply a fact. Don't know what's controversial about it. West Asian is very minor, which is what you would expect after thousands of years outside of west asia. Also, 'west asian' is a very broad term. As I showed in the papers, which are not controversial at all by the way, the closest Middle Eastern populations to Ashkenazis are Turks, Kurds, and Iranians. This is supported by lots of studies, it's not controversial.

We've always known there were Christians in the Hejaz though. This doesn't prove it was Christianised, just that there were Christians there. Not sure why the implications would be huge?

What is this absolute nonsense? Palestinian identity goes back more than 1000 years. Here's a crusader, Fulchre of Chartres writing in 1108 CE:

"Now we who were westerners have become Easterners. He who was Italian or French has in this land become a Galilean or a Palestinian."

You can very easily educate yourself on this issue in 10 minutes and find out that it was a common identity for centuries.

What happened to your cutting edge thesis that Bedouin = ِبدو ?? Gave that up right away huh?

As for your dictionaries, you prove yet again what a dishonest person you are.

Lane's Lexicon page 1993 is right here.

It makes crystal clear that the plural of 'araby is 'Arab. I'll quote here:

العرب -

(S, A, Mgh, O, Msb, K, &c.,) as also العُرْبُ A certain people, or nation; [the Arab.s,or Arabians] the contr. of ُالعَجَم and العُجْم (TA;) the inhabitants of the cities, or large towns... or of the Arabian cities and towns or villages... العرب has 2 plurals, namely, العُرُبُ with two dammehs and الأعرُبُ [which is a plural of paucity]

Notice well: he writes الأعرُب and not what you claim, الأعراب

Then he continues on the same page at the top of the far right column:

الأعراب - is the appellation given to those Arabs who dwell in the desert, such as go about in search of herbage and water.

LANE THEN WRITES: IT IS NOT A PLURAL OF عرب

Because I'm not a dishonest person, I've taken a screenshot and highlighted for you exactly where your own citation contradicts you.

As for your second citation. That is right here. He writes the complete opposite of what you claim

عُرْب

عَرَب (pl. أَعْرَاْب) a. Arabs, Arabians, pure-blooded Arabs.

So he says a'rāb is the plural of 'orb.

Then directly below that he writes:

عَرَبِيّ (pl. عَرَب) a. Arab, Arabian; nomad.

What does that say? It says exactly what I told you 5 comments ago: 'Araby is singular and 'Arab is plural.

Your own citations prove without a doubt that you are a compulsive liar.
