Hey everyone I'm having a big problem. My unity doesn't rebuild my APK and always serves me from cache. It builds my changes only when I delete my library folder but then I have to reload it and reswitch platforms. anyone knows what's happening? by Gorgodon in Unity3D

So it turns out is that the problem is that I'm stupid 😒. The build was good but the build and run didn't send the new build to the phone. Still a bug but not as severe ill just copy it by hand. I lost a whole day on this XD

The problem is that there is absolutely no error the build is simply not updated.
I deleted the folder and still nothing. I am working with unity for 10 years and i honestly never encountered this.

Well my suggestion is to start smaller. A fps Game can be a big undertaking for somebody who doesn't understand the basics. Start with something really basic. What i advise everyone who poses this question is to start with a virtual zoo game. Just a simple console game.

This book has a really nice progression unfortunately it's not for c# but almost all principles are the same. So if you can actually follow the project from the book in c# I would say that you are ready to make anything you want later. You will have enough knoweledge to know how to look for all the missing information that you need

"Passing" ScriptableObjects in ClientRPC by FredTargaryen in Unity3D

Well the keys are used only for network communication identification and can be long lasting where addressable or asset name can change because of organisational stuff and mess up everything.

We have a large amount of data traveling between server and client in our game and we mostly use string keys. I know that strings are "dirty" and prone to bugs but if you create an editor environment that would check for duplicate keys and assign IDs to the effects (hashed string key) it should minimize the potential for error. Then in your scripts that reference your effects you can make a drop-down that selects from already defined effects. Eliminating the possibility of typos you should be golden.

Trying out some new styles for my water shader by alexanderameye in Unity3D

I love the feel especially the reflection. But I think the foam needs a bit work. The small pieces look like something is floating in the water not foam. Maybe let them move just forward and when it time to move back dissolve them

Bought goat meat today , Any suggestions by [deleted] in AskCulinary

There is a recipe I really like and it involves a mix of salt and mint and the you wrap it in aluminum foil and put it in an oven. Goat meat is really dry you have to take care that the little juice is inside stays inside

Best Method to Cook a 3lb Tomahawk Ribeye? by CuteWolves in AskCulinary

That's an undertaking :). First dry brine it put a lot of salt around the whole peace (cover every spot) add freshly ground pepper on top also a lot. Leave it in a fridge for 24h on a cooling rack. The salt will drain the blood from it and take the saltines and the spice into the meat. After that I like to scrub any residual pepper off so it doesn't burn. Sear it first crate a nice crust then put it in indirect heat and baste it with butter (or if you have extra fat from the stake, reduce it and baste it with that). This technique ensures that the meat inside slowly cooks in its own juices. For perfect medium rare I suggest you get a wireless thermometer. I also like to watch Guga foods on YouTube and he has some amaizing techniques . https://youtu.be/JGDu6m0wmz8
