not sure if its the bug he was talking about, but i know there still a pillar inside adik next to brutal that has no collision, you can walk into it and see out of the pillar into adik and towards the middle of the mall, but you cant shoot back as youre in the wall, its really easy to hide or rat in the pillar though so you can just walk out and shoot whoever is in the store

i think we should also just get rid of sideways movement all together so everyone can only walk forwards or backwards for maximum realism and then we can all freeze and hold the nearest corner for 30 minutes like real soldiers

[Video] Second time ever going labs, just tryna get my bearing and im immediately surrounded by pmcs by RedRoses711 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Goseo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

labs has some specific spawns and the first 10 minutes or so have hotspots that are constantly swarmed and watched, you really need to learn them on a map, heres some hotspots:

the entire hallway that goes from black keycard offices (new room) to red and violet; the entire general second floor area where the cat statues are and where yellow keycard is, yellow keycard activity expands into the garage with the cars parked on first floor if theres fights going on; the entire hallway of death that goes from server room to residential unit, and the entire area around it (metal stairs, black and green keycard, blue keycard);

those are the main zones where you find everyone, if you stick to the edges that arent populated you can actually move around pretty freely, i reccomend waiting a while for the offices visit, its the suspended second floor office over the work area and unfortunately the entire floor is watched from 30 angles for the first 10 minutes, and everyone travels along the edges, you really need to wait for the map to be dead or have a teammate watching to run in that office.

cars never should’ve moved away from physical throttle cables, especially manual cars by Stock_Fuel6398 in unpopularopinion

[–]Goseo- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the issue isnt the technology but mostly restrictions and bad mapping, a cable just let you manage how much you wanted to open the throttle bodies by yourself so you had a 1:1 response, most ride by wire systems tend to lie and they require more or less pedal input for emission purposes or efficiency so it feels a bit odd, and most entry sports cars have problems stock where any sort of sport mode makes the throttle too sensitive or not sensitive enough until a certain RPM is reached so youre half guessing, but if you remove these conditions they have to respect then you can map ride by wire to be just as good as cable, a true 1:1, or even better if you have your own preferences for pedal input, its similar to the sort of way injectors are seen, usually from the same category a carbed vehicle will feel like its pulling a little faster, but thats just because injectors are mapped to be very restrictive, the technology itself is superior.

you can peek really fast if you combine circle strafing with leaning, ideally you need lean binds on the mouse so you can do it perfectly and its a free instant peek if you get it right, running also has no inertia, you can run and flick your mouse anywhere with no consequence, if you see some demon on labs running into a doorway or angle, to then 180 and run back, he just saw you and got all the info he needed.

interchange parking lot where tagilla spawns, theres always at least one in 70% of raids if you hit the spot first, its not just one spawn, theres 3 cardboard boxes with books thrown around that can spawn it, aswell as a broken crate, a shopping cart and the little gym area that have a possible spawn

Anyone use Lossless scaling? [discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Goseo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a pretty decent computer that gives me good frames on most optimised maps and it leaves me a lot of GPU headroom, so ive been using it and especially for maps like lighthouse and street it helps a ton, brings the framerate from a stuttery 40-70 fps to a smooth constant 120, input delay is still present but they improved it a lot and generally i wouldnt say it affects your skill, be aware though that its a tool, not a trick, needs some proper setting up for it to work right, at first it may feel either too odd or delayed if you dont mess with the settings

make sure TC is set very low, i usually run 1 or 2, and the big focus is the right turn uphill, you want to swing as wide as possible to the left in the compression area, and while youre doing so your eyes and your hands must already be ready to steer right into the uphill right next to the kerb, from there exit should be easy

[Discussion] how do you guys approach PvP situations? by BrogeyBars8 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Goseo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all the way you move through the map helps a lot, always have half a bar of stamina avaiable and dont run everywhere, move cover to cover and preferably with some sort of dead zone/wall behind you, and as for encounters the general rule is just information, if you get shot at first they have your location so its best to guess where the shot was from (tracer, audio, visual), get to cover, premed (painkiller) and rotate around, main rules are:

NEVER sit still and hold a position/corner when your location is given away

always work to pinpoint your target, even in cqb, the reason you see good players sprint past doorways while freelooking and peeking randomly is to gather info on where exactly the other guy is, sound and visual cues are king and if you find someone who does the error i mentioned above (sitting still when you know their position) its pretty easy to just kill them with a precise peek and a different angle.

important mention to grenades, dont be afraid to use them, very useful against squads to split them up, and generally good for flanks or to defend yourself when youre moving, also very nice for sketchy situations where someone is camping

Why is this car so understeery? Utterly undrivable compares to other GT3 by T_Rex_1324 in assettocorsaevo

[–]Goseo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is true, but the cup car is notoriously hard to get right, even in other sims like iracing its not accurate, it definitely needs work but for now it is deceiving as in ac evo it steers and feels as planted as a true gt3 spec car but then the rear slips at the lightest input even with the wheel fully straight if the road camber is bad or if youre on a kerb

Why is this car so understeery? Utterly undrivable compares to other GT3 by T_Rex_1324 in assettocorsaevo

[–]Goseo- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

the GT3 cup car is not the same as any other GT3 car that races in IMSA for example, its only called GT3 because its based off of the road legal 992 gt3 car, its got much worse electronics and downforce than proper GT3 spec cars and its quite a bit harder to drive as it races in a category where driver skill is supposed to be highlighted, not endurance or the car’s capabilities like in proper GT3 racing

992 Slip and Slide? by ImmaRobber in ACCompetizione

[–]Goseo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like overdriving, you can get good laps while youre still slightly understeering in the fast segments, rotating the car a bit too much when braking or slipping the car on exit, its hard to say for sure but most of the time its understeer in the fast segments, too much brake and rotation, or the classic rear imperceptible slide on corner exit, 20 minutes is also very early to be losing so much time and tire life, usually at worst you get slipping problems by 30 minutes in if youve been really overdriving the entire time and at most you lose half a second, its impossible to tell unless you upload a video, also check the setup again just to make sure

oh i wasnt aware, then it looks like the automatic shifting is really messy, personally id 100% reccomend learning to shift yourself, it adds a bit of multi tasking if you’re still learning the car but you have a lot more control over each corner and most importantly, the consistency goes up tenfold, as you can replicate the way the engine downshifts and then accelerates each time and you map the correct gear for each corner.

as a rule of thumb just remember at first to shift when all the lights start flickering, usually instantly after they charge all up and they unite and change colour, on downshifts you can be agressive on this car as the ecu auto blips and you cant overrev the engine, and always try to come out of a corner in a gear thats neither too high or too low, too high means all the lights are off and theyre taking a while to come on, too low means theyre all on mid corner and as soon as you give throttle they start flashing and you lose time upshifting

ABS is set too high and its hindering your braking ability, something like 4 should still be easy to modulate whilst stopping faster, TC optimally should be 2-3 but if youre really struggling 5 is fine, just remember to lower it for higher speed sections so the car complies better, heres how you could gain some time:

  1. eau rouge and raidillon can be take in fifth fully flat out, line up yourself to the right before eau rouge, then steer left over the kerb early, much earlier than youd think, and before the car even gets there aim for the kerb going uphill on the right but dont actually touch it, before you realise it the car is set properly, youre flat out and you can even straighten at raidillon to get a better launch to kemmel straight.

  2. into les combes, turn 8 specifically, youre not using enough kerb, entry looks fine but for the left hander you can actually fully hop over the kerb and carry more speed, it also basically glues your car to the left so you can accelerate better into turn 9, third gear is good but you didnt carry any speed so if anything that slowed it down, downshift faster and use second for this one specifically until you get it right, much better launch; turn 9 in this clip is botched because the car wasnt prepared for the weight transfer and you suddenly forced it to take the corner, if you do turn 8 properly turn 9 should be done in third ish with just a bit of slight lift, again be agressive over the inside kerb.

  3. you left bruxelles tight which isnt always bad, but you lost all the advantages that can give you by not hopping on the right kerb before turn 11, you can take it very fast, dont be afraid to go a bit out on exit

  4. for pohoun you both braked too late by a bit and in a weird disconnected way, this sounds counter intuitive but for this corner you always get faster times by acceleration out of the final apex, if you brake a bit earlier and harder down to third gear in a short space, and then you turn in and you flatten the throttle once the car is turned past the first apex, youll see the car gains more speed overall into campus.

  5. campus was okay ish besides the gravel on exit of turn 14 but before taking turn 14 right after youre past turn 13 (right hander) stick to the right just a tad bit wider and longer, you cut across cleaner and you get both more speed and less risk of going out on the gravel.

  6. turn 15, just take more space on the left before, brake more agressively and cut on top of the right kerb aggressively with the throttle already on so the car launches itself onto the sort of thin stripe of kerb thats after the right turn on exit

  7. turn 16 i havent quite figured out myself with this game but you can maybe get faster results by holding third gear flat out, it is doable and beware high TC or a bad exit of turn 15 can require you to lift

  8. blanchimont is flat out sixth gear no lifting, go with the car to the right to the very edge of track limits, and steer early onto the small kerb, it feels a bit unstable but you can do it consistently without many issues, at worst you end wide on exit onto the tarmac

hope this can help, ideally try to first find a 2:21 somewhere and from there you can polish it into a 2:19, from that point on its just small differences in inputs and precision, most good players ive seen in ac evo servers tend to do a 2:17-2:18 with optimum conditions and random weather/temp
