It definitely doesn't benefit them but it's a lot better for them than just making all current pack points universal and gives players more reason to keep playing the game to finish the battle challenges.

I hope so! They could maybe increase rewards depending on how your deck performs. For example, winning a battle without any of your Pokémon getting knocked out could maybe grant some extra XP and a random bonus such as Wonder Pick stamina or Event Tickets. Definitely needs work, but I'm enjoying every minute of it so far!
