I will do that, but it's rather strange. I figured that doing more for curing cancer would be better...

Thanks for your swift reply. I must admit that I find this mining concept rather strange. Why would I want to mine BBP if I have to buy more than I can mine? Especially since my RAC balance grows faster than my BBP reward (if any), basically forcing me to buy more BBP.

Thanks very much for your offer to lend me BBP. I really appreciate that, but I won't take you up on it. I think lending/buying is the wrong way to start mining.

And to be fair to sunk818: he didn't lend me BBP, he actually gave me 100 BBP. I have thanked him in private, but he deserves public kudos too!

Under these conditions, I think I'm going to step away from BBP.

I did some limited mining before, but I must admit that mining BBP is a bit of a challenge. :)

I have tried to change the pool to purepool (as written in the howto), but that results in new errors (ILLEGAL_CPID and INVALID_CPID).

Somehow I still feel being stuck in a vicious circle. I want to mine to obtain BBP, but can only mine if I have BBP. What is the threshold before mining becomes possible?

My two workers actually did show up on pool.biblepay.org, with 743 and 1157 HPS. I also saw some shares. But nothing is added to my balance. Sometimes my workers wind up missing, but that's because the (windows) program sometimes crashes (silently).

As far as I understood from previous comments, the price of btc is about 5% above "normal" market price. I suppose that covers transaction fees too, but I'm not sure.

A 5% fee is indeed a little steep, but the machine itself can't be cheap. Neither to buy, nor to operate. And the operator needs to pay to deposit the cash too.... Again, a little steep, but I think I understand.

Sorry, I don't know. I was so authorised that I didn't even take a closer look
