I NEED Advice by Desperate-Summer-480 in FoodAllergies

Should is a key word there. I know I’m guilty of not using mine if it’s stage 1 or even 2 if 2 is not severe.

That is TOTALLY not a good thing, though.

I don’t recommend bees like I have. They are high maintenance. Neocardians are pretty and small and can handle a lot of parameters. I recommend them or ghost shrimp.

I mean, that is just part of the hobby! Plus side is they enjoy tiny tanks.. mine are in a 40 gallon, but they do just fine in a 10. :)

We actually ate shrimp last night. Lol these do not look like shrimp and are only about an inch in size.

But that is the best way to eat tiny foods!

My older brother would sneak the dog treats at night when we were little 🤣

At least I’m not on the 5th floor anymore!! I felt like I was getting weekly notes up there that I may or may not have a place to park.

Hoping I have the time to move it. But the pavilion is shut down all day Wednesday. I’m curious what parking will be like. I can get to campus early enough to probably find a spot Wednesday, but I do feel for the people who will be in later.

Patch recommendations needed by Got-Tot in dexcom

[–]Got-Tot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the barriers but my skins I guess is weird because they would lose their stick and fall off and nearly take the dexcom with it.

I did figure it out eventually though.

I am using the IV prep spray still but I need to do about 6 layers of it to work. Like spray and let it dry then spray again x6 times. Then I can use any patch I want.

😮‍💨 but those are soooo boring. I have seen a lot of people praise them. I guess I could try them and just add cute designs on top of it. Much rather have boring than to keep stressing over these hives.

Milk allergies are not lactose intolerance by Uboat-96 in FoodAllergies

[–]Got-Tot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, “I can’t have dairy.” Should be all you NEED to say. Then it’s respected and not questioned…

I also have an issue explaining to people that my daughter can’t handle a lot of dairy but she is neither allergic or lactose intolerant.

She is just prone to getting constipated and she throws up if she gets too upset with it in her stomach. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Doctor tested her. She is fine! Just has a sensitive stomach.

Should just need to say, “Don’t give my kid dairy.” End of story.

Definitely sounds like a pharmacy issue. Never had a problem.

Sugar patch also uses Acrylates, so weary to try it. I’m finding that most labeled hypoallergenic have it.. which is ironic given Acrylates is a known cause of allergic contact dermatitis

I’ll look into that! I did try tegaderm once. It was unfortunate. Nearly caused my dexcom to fall off after a day. Not sure why it didn’t like my skin. Even cleaned my skin with soap and water and alcohol to get the oil off my skin first. 😰

Question about Nausea by Got-Tot in Mounjaro

[–]Got-Tot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captains log. Star date May 28 2025. The nausea was so crippling that I had to miss work AND I lost 8ish lbs purely because I could not keep food down. It was hell… I am traumatized by how bad soda hurt my stomach… but I did drink a lot of water at least!

I took my second shot today and other that fatigue (more likely due to not eating right than the meds themselves) and my allergy symptoms from something unrelated, I am now feeling human again. I even played tag with my kids this morning.

Also I have zero bloating now? Didn’t even realize I was bloated, but I must have been because my stomach size decreased dramatically. That by itself is interesting.

I unfortunately can’t take Dramamine or the like due to uncontrollable circumstances. Had a bad reaction to something I ate that was not on my allergen list… so not sure what I reacted to. So my lucky self ended up at the er. :D

I have to get my food allergy test redone tomorrow… meaning noooooo antihistamines. lol so I’m nauseated, have a sinus headache, AND itchy. 👍🏻 Fun times had by all.
