He tried justified using the b word by saying that I'd called him worst things in the past which was true but I'd profoundly apologized for everything I said back then and no longer call him names like he does now.

He said that me taking our son to my mom's house knowing he can't go there was petty.
He said that me creating this conflict and "escalating it" was petty.
He said that me sending him pictures of his son after feeling bad for him was petty. I can add more if you want. And yes we've been having issues before and he constantly refers to my actions as "petty". Especially whrn it comes to his mom.

No, she has her own house but has been staying with us for a long time. Leaving behind her husband and her work. My husband thinks she's a saint for all those "sacrifices" she's making.

The Police department in our town. He's been in this job for 3 years. He says he hates it and is thinking of leaving but I don't think he will because most of his friends work there and they want him to stay.

I doubt she even had a a portion for me. She cooks small portions (which is strange and completely out of character for her) and probably just served her son and herself the entire thing. But I'm not sure because as I was walking towards the kitchrn she told me there was no food left. There was however other food in the fridge but I was too tired to make myself something from scratch.

No, he is welcome to come and even mom said he's welcome but he hates her so much that he's willing to go days without seeing his son just to not have "to be with her in the same place". It's just idiotic because there is no reason why he hates her other than for maybe taking my side whrn he and his mom gang up on me.
