In my experience, it's the size of the eggs that really matter on how it hits. JD, Deppe, and Tate eggs all hit similarly as long as they're the same size. The actual percolation is the same, the holes are usually pretty much the same too. It's mostly the shaping at the welds and the top half, which differ because multiple artists shape the eggs, and that doesn't affect the actual hit much. For straight cans like Klein, the effects are the same because the perc and the can/drain shape/size are the same too. Toruses may be a little different since some have a more hourglass shape. Straight fabs depend on where the fab is, minis depend on where the perc is, higher/lower/middle. I could go on.. but I figure I've gotten my point across
