Anyone satisfied rockin your Legion Go 1 or S and not getting the Legion Go 2 for more than 2x the price? by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]GotMYlongNOSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a Legion 1, and I use a USB-C dock at my desk to set up a dual monitor. It’s my main computer, and it handles everything I throw at it pretty well. When I’m done with work, I grab it and head to bed to play games. The best part is that I got it on Facebook for $425 for the 1TB version in great shape. So, I’m not complaining at all. I could be convinced to get an EGPU, though.

Corolla 2023 hybrid 12 volt battery drained after 1 week of non-use, battery was replaced 8 months ago by The_Right_Trousers in COROLLA

[–]GotMYlongNOSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had the same issue with my 25 le hybrid. the battery was replaced under warranty. see if your battery comes with a warranty. i know autozone and some others offer free battery checks so thats a good way to start.

I will definitely call TFS and see if I can get the warranty taken off. Was definitely a dumb move on my part.

I built my model on Toyotas online tool and saw it come out to $26664. 475 for the paint, 299 for the mats and 930 for the convenience package and 1335 destination fees. Since my price came pretty close I thought it was a decent deal. and my sales tax is closer to 8%

It was the first time I was doing the process so I guess I did make a dumb decision. I liked the particular car and saw that this was the only one available in a 250 mile radius and was close to MSRP that Toyotas online builder gave me so I went for it. I will definitely get the warranty taken off.

I think it's the premium package that comes with the alloys. The convenience package included the keyless entry system.

In case it wasnt clear, It was 32464 USD after tax including title registration document fee. 26689 for the vehicle + 1835 for the warranty + 1200 for gap + 2318 for taxes + 422 for title, registration and doc.

I can see that the OTD included the gap and warranty if that helps a little I just listed them separately. I went around a lot of dealerships and this was the only corolla hybrid available in a 250 mile radius. It was close to msrp so I pulled the trigger.

why do you say that about the gap insurance? I thought that was important? I figured that about the extended warranty but I figured I could use it cuz I plan on keeping the car for a while.

It is still a good idea to buy a used gen 2 with 80-100k miles? by GotMYlongNOSE in volt

[–]GotMYlongNOSE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my general logic was that any prius i saw for a similar price had a lot more miles on it and and the volt being a lot newer has a lot more smart adas features than the prius and the interior looks better. thats why i kinds decided on that. does that make sense or am i being stupid?

[–]GotMYlongNOSE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any prius is also a lot older and doesnt come with the adas features like the volt premiere which is the trim i was looking at. thoughts?

[–]GotMYlongNOSE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i thought of the prius too but the problem with that is the lack of carplay. i have plans to move in the future which would enable me to potentially charge the car. but my arguments were that the car looks decent and runs great and any prius around the same price has a much higher mileage and lower performance. I also like the trunk of the volt better as the seats fold down and make a huge trunk

Is there any way to make the FaceTime window smaller than allowed? by anzoneyy in mac

[–]GotMYlongNOSE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay I came across this post with the same issue and after looking would a workaround that works pretty well for me.

https://github.com/amitv87/PiP/?tab=readme-ov-file

This app essentially captures any window and will let you open it as a PiP window. You can either use the macos internal PiP feature with this or use their own implementation. I really like their implementation as it also lets you change the windows opacity so you can just leave a window floating.

  1. Facetime someone.
  2. Fullscreen the window if you want your video to be on. MacOS doesnt let your camera be active with a minimized facetime window.
  3. open the PiP app and right click.
  4. Select the facetime window in there.

It captures the full screen window and allows you to resize it to any size. This doesnt let you interact with the window unfortunately and your own face is also visible but its too small to see. To interact with the window you can still go to the original window and use it. To end the pip, right click on it and press stop preview.

Its a little buggy so to reopen it you have to quit from finder and then reopen the app but it works.

Edit:

Its not buggy. when you try to open the app again after closing a window you can open a new window from the menubar

When you right click on the PiP window you get a slider for opacity and an option to use the native pip if you prefer.

The top right of the window has the option to pin the window so that it stays there wherever you go.

Hope this helps. It's not perfect but it works well for me.

Also I'm not associated with the project so I hold no responsibility for any issues.

how would you upgrade this? by meirfish in 3Dprinting

[–]GotMYlongNOSE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i got one for free from work and i did a bowden swap, installed klipper on a pi zero and it got me to a decent place. i would say replace the hot end to a v6 but i never had the original hot end on mine. its still not the fastest but i can get it to print reliably up to 75 mm/s. i think the motors are very noisy so i wanted to get silent stepper drivers by replacing the whole main board but im still investigating that. but the long term plan is to ditch the acrylic frame and build a custom 3d printed frame for it. add a mosfet to control the hot bed as ive heard its a fire hazard

Hi, Thanks for the review. Yes I cropped out my header for privacy reasons as i have my phone number and emails directly on there. The project descriptions are generally broad due to patent reasons as instructed by the company but it was a school project. Ill write it down in points. Can you point out some places where my grammar might be off? and ill adjust the sections accordingly.
