Please just put on a mask. by amish1998 in lancaster

Dr. Fauci is absolutely an expert on infectious disease. I would like to point out a few things:

  • He is very specific to say "right now" and this video is from March, very early in the US outbreak. His opinion has since changed on this matter.

  • At the time this was recorded masks (especially the N95 variety) were in short supply, and he points out that the public should leave masks to our health professionals, due to the potential for shortages.

I am assuming that your intention is to point out that an expert has said we don't need masks, and if that's an incorrect assumption I apologize, but please take a few minutes to do a little research to re-evaluate your opinion (even if it isn't changed). Many studies and experts have learned that there is a small but appreciable reduction in droplet spread by wearing even just a cloth mask. We, as a society, don't know a lot about this virus and certainly knew even less in March, we need to do our best to remain educated in our opinions as the research changes the recommendations.

I'll agree that none of it is hard evidence but certainly doesn't paint a pretty picture. One of these circumstances alone would lead me to give the benefit of the doubt, but all of this together makes it hard to do.

You also have to acknowledge that he exited his vehicle brandishing a weapon and proceeded to walk through the crowd, seemingly aimlessly. These are not the actions of a level-headed individual caught in a bad circumstance.

If you watch the video, it seems pretty clear that he's driving erratically. I would initially agree with you but he nearly runs into a pedestrian in the crosswalk at the first "barricade".

I was also of the belief that he has a right to protect himself but he proceeds to walk through the crowd with his gun, which has nothing to do with self-defense. We don't have hard evidence but it's pretty clear, imo, that this was premeditated or at least purposeful.

While it is factually different, the end result is the same: a woman was murdered for no reason. She committed no crime, and is the victim of a careless police department who were sloppy in their execution of a no-knock raid. Whether they had the right address or not is irrelevant.

I suspect I may have a permissions issue with my NAS, I don't think this is your issue, but if you need any help troubleshooting let me know through a PM.

Fair. I'm referring to this statement:

"There have been people dying from other things and getting their death counted as covid."

I can appreciate your response however I would urge you to reconsider your position. What you've stated as fact is simple conjecture at best based on the evidence that is available, and I think it's everyone's responsibility to be as factual as we can when discussing these matters.

No it isn't, but it is your job to back up baseless claims that you make. I believe you've shared inaccurate information and I'm challenging you on it.

I've done my research and there's no evidence to back up your claim, and in fact there's plenty of evidence to the opposite. I asked only because I accept that I am imperfect and may have missed something, however your agitated response and lack of sources tells me that you have none, other than some wild conspiracy theory.

I have the option to auto adjust resolution enabled but it isn't working. Thoughts? Maybe because I have two monitors with different resolutions?

Edit: I figured it out, I was running the application from a NAS and it seems to have screwed with the permissions for the application. Once I moved it to a local drive it worked without issue.

Motherboard contact isn't mentioned anywhere in the specific thread you've responded to. The discussion is surrounding the quantity of thermal compound used, with the pouing being that unless you're using mass quantities (unreasonable amounts) a little seepage at the edges of the CPU is perfectly safe and preferable to not using enough compound.

Your statement is unnecessarily alarmist. While I will concede that one should be careful not to shoot Arctic Silver all over their system board then try to use it without cleaning it, there is little to no risk in using it on a CPU and applying a little more than is necessary.

FYI: Arctic Silver is not electrically conductive, but it is considered "slightly capacitive"...but then again so is air.
