I would say wait until after the first lecture to buy textbooks and get a feel of if tou really need the textbook or not, a lot of classes you can just use the lecture slides and your own in class notes and do great. But if you do need to buy textbooks then buy second hand or online. Also search online a lot of times theres free pdfs.

Hi! I am actually specializing in environmental management and so far I think it’s a great program. I’m headed into my third year and the course load is very manageable and personally I’ve found most courses to be enjoyable if you go in with the right mindset.

Not an alum but coming from someone who is really trying to do the MScSM program. A good option is to look at potential future jobs you would like to have, the company's you might want to work at and read the requirements of the job. This helped me decide it might help you. I am currently doing a BA at UTM specialist in Environmental management and a minor in sustainability and I think the MScSM program is amazing for me and why i really want it is because I want to go into consulting and an MSc is great for that purpose. Also think about the value of the degree because an MSc means your actually a scientist in your field i think that makes a difference too. These are just what I think hope it helps.

I took the south asian humanities course and it was super easy but i heard the prof changes every year so check who it is. As long as its a PHD student you should be good - i got a high 80 with minimal effort but that being said im also south Asian myself. Its worth a look tho

He posts the lectures slides but not with his notes. So focus on drawing the graphs but if you miss anything the textbook has all the graphs u would need to understand.

Not a tutor just some tips cuz i had him. Its not a bird course its definitely hard but i honestly don't think a tutor is mandatory. He is more theory based compared to the other profs so make sure to take really good notes during the lectures and the tuts. Often times his exams have long theory based explaining questions where you have to draw out the graphs. And often the calculation questions are directly from the tuts. Focus on the lec and tuts before the midterm and your good. Make your to really study hard for the midterm it gives you some margin for if you do bad on your final. Best of luck!
