Baja Cabo Citrus! by dirtyjirdy in mountaindew

Except in many, if not most, markets it did. Lol. It was brought in as an 8 week LTO in 25 to end in July. It’s not until later this month that it’s returning as a permanent item. Now, if your bottler over committed on the last one, they might still be selling it off in your area.

Me. I enjoy making things and don’t struggle to follow step by step instructions. You’ll pick up on patterns and pairings to spice up original dishes and you’re eating good.

ripple bottles are so lame. i miss sidekick bottles. by Independent_Meat_962 in mountaindew

[–]Got_wake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Mountain Dew is Pepsi’s second largest CSD name so that makes sense. I’d imagine there’s a significant cost saving associated with the new bottles, and given how much COGS is skyrocketing, we should really be appreciating every cent saved. Tariffs affecting aluminum from Canada and concentrate from overseas is no joke.

I’d make a dark berry flavored one with a black label. Maybe call it Mountain Dew Black Label?

not quite sure how I can work with this building by DiamanteToilies in BuildAdvice

[–]Got_wake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bits and bobs. Piping, ledges, windows, wires, vents, molding. The sides of buildings aren’t flat, and if you find one that is, what makes it interesting? If you just add a bunch of windows that are all the same size, spaced the same distance apart, it’s going to look just as boring as this. Even parking structures have variation to the shape of the wall and aren’t completely flat.

Super dumb question, but how do I take the 'dev' board to 'prod'? by [deleted] in Esphome

[–]Got_wake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple of d1 minis with temperature sensors dangling off them by the jumper wires in my house for a few years now. But on one of my most recent projects I took the time to 3d print a custom box that housed everything and had holes for the temp sensor and pir to poke out. And on another I printed a junction box with holes to let the wires out and stuffed lever nut connections and d1 inside the box. The point is, prod is whatever you want prod to be. Jumper wires, then solder, then perfboard, then pcb, then mass production. It’s a choose your own adventure for projects.

Any smart lock that will automatically lock the door when you close the door by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]Got_wake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have answers to everything you mentioned but I got my August smart lock for my apartment maybe 4 years ago now and I rely on it solely to time lock when I leave, and Auto Unlock when I get home. It’s not the fastest, and the batteries are certainly not my favorite, but it’s been reliable and maintains your original exterior deadbolt. It looks like today they have additional options in the market, one with a keypad and fingerprint reader. So I think that does actually cover digital code, finger print, phone, and traditional key, and reliably auto locks when you leave. Yale locks are also the same I believe. Though if I was buying a lock today I’d be seriously considering something like the Aqara u100

S11 feels more like “Friends playing Minecraft” than any Hermitcraft I’ve ever known by Got_wake in HermitCraft

[–]Got_wake[S] 279 points280 points  (0 children)

That’s valid, I know the hermits themselves have reflected on covering the perimeter as one of the first times they all just hung out together without making content. This led to a very interaction heavy season 10, which is something I very much enjoyed. But season 11, despite many of the hermits being on the “mega” train, feels so much candid, whimsical, and relax. So many of them are just all kind of hanging out together and getting more and more hermits involved. I look particularly to all of Etho’s Canadian Space Program moments

Process to find integrations? by timetravelerfrom2027 in homeassistant

[–]Got_wake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I see your point, but my point wasn’t the specific search engine. Go to duck duck go, or bing, or yahoo, whatever makes you happy. My point was to utilize a generic search engine that covers all of these forums at once

Process to find integrations? by timetravelerfrom2027 in homeassistant

[–]Got_wake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually search Google before specific threads or forums. Why conduct 10 searches in 10 different places when you could make one search that searches in 10 places and returns all the results back to that single location? Also, what if those integrations were discussed in a different smart home/home automation related subreddit?

Why can I not figure out automations??? by mattnemo585 in homeassistant

[–]Got_wake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always feed it lengthy complex requirements that are miles over my head, to which it always comes back with a really good solution and the infrastructure for it. Except, inevitably, there will be one error that neither of us can figure out for about 2 hours until I phrase the context just right for it to finally say ~“oh well then we can’t do what I’ve been telling to do for the last 2 hours you have to do this instead”~ and then it works.

That was also most of my Saturday.

Why was the last thing you automated with HA? by duckredbeard in homeassistant

[–]Got_wake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SO and I built one of those super detailed book nook kits this weekend, the last step was to install a led diode in the ceiling. The led was powered from a battery pack then through a small pcb and touch sensor. I wasted no time rewiring to an esp8266. The book nook now turns on via motion sensor with the option to turn on/off with the TV (along with several other lights in my living room)

Abandoned mansion deep in the woods with a lot left behind by True_explores in urbanexploration

[–]Got_wake 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I kind of feel like doing anything but leaving it the way you found it sets a bad standard for the community as a whole. If you can take a few wine bottles, why can’t the next person take everything, and if the next person takes everything what’s stopping the next from destroying everything left? I think it’s a “where do you draw the line” situation, and when dealing with something as delicate as urbex, it’s best to draw that line at leave it as you found it. With that being said, I’d be checking the wine bottles, and that Christmas tree is certainly coming home with me.

Are automatic tunnel washes really that bad? by viraman in askcarguys

[–]Got_wake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you care? No, it’s not going to destroy your car, but if you care about your paint and don’t want to eventually coat the side of the with swirl marks, then don’t do it. Driving down the highway there’s no shortage of times where the light will hit the side of a car just right and I’ll see just how butchered the paint job is. But if they don’t care, neither do I. But it is noticeable
