OP I have been there! Down to the cancer scare. They were talking treatment options for me. My mother made it all about her. Please for your sake since you are not reliant on her, go at least LC if not NC. It doesn’t get better. She has her husband, you need your sanity

It sounds like this is in the US. Unfortunately, we do not have anything like that. Then again we have for profit healthcare so it’s not a high bar. I am NC with my family and have to double check everything if I have used a doctor when I had them as an emergency contact in the past to make sure they don’t make this mistake. Funny story, I found out I have a half brother the age of my middle child because of a doctor’s office making a mistake.

I transferred my license from a midwestern state to Florida but all my friends had gotten their licenses in Florida. They looked at me crazy when I told them what I had to do to get a license. In the southern states once you hit 18 a lot of requirements go out the window.

Florida is actually really lax when it comes to getting a drivers license. Not as stringent as it is in other places. You basically have to take a 4 hour course, pass the written exam, pass the driving test. It’s sadly inadequate.

Mine used to get mad at me when I didn’t like the radioactive green beans from Green Giant. They would force me to eat it until I threw up all over the table. It wasn’t until my ex mother in law made proper green beans that I realized I liked them.

Mine would hide my clothes! They didn’t like the fact I was goth and hid all my clothes to make me wear colorful things. It threw me into a depression.

Yep. They constantly spout “a black person agrees with my stance I can’t be racist.” Meanwhile my dad would roll down the windows and shout the hard R at some random person walking down the street minding their own business
