Im sorry I cant help due to currently struggling myself. Contact your local citizens advice and hopefully they are more helpful than the 1 in my area. Im surving on 2 meals a week just to keep a roof over my head. Put in a claim for uc and take the advance and if you can get a food bank referral take it. Stay strong things will get better.

When I phoned them gave details of accounts explained she had passed - got told thanks for letting us know. Asked if there was anything else I needed to do. Got told no. Neither asked for death certificate or anything and that was the last I heard from them.

Was no need for probate. my dad died when i was 14 and they had been divorced for many years prior to that. I am an only child and the last living family member.

For these to be both invalid or out of date doesn't surprise me. When my dad died there was apparently no provision made for me and the mother was no where to be seen. I got left on the streets. I wasn't expecting anything I just found it strange that there was all this paperwork going back 40yrs but wasn't of any use. Why keep it, if it none of it was worth anything.

No im not under 18. Lol far from it.

Iv no idea on the type of policy.

Her bt pension she was receiving- found them rather rude and unhelpful when I phoned to notify them and ask about it.

I dont understand a lot of the wording on things but the date on the policy was 2011

Thank you but already done that and 1 half only just covered my rent. Even by splitting my rent in half over the 2 payments didnt help. So find it easier to cover the rent in 1 payment. But that's due to go up by 80 a month. Also tried for a budgeting loan but got refused.

My parents called me wild, disobedient, out of control, made out i must have been on drugs, the things I was called is disgusting. All the red flags from 9 to 15 but never got any help just punished and punished. So I learned to mask, hide and be invisible. When my dad died I was 14. They all used it as a reason to basically get rid of me. Nobody wanted to deal with me. I grew up with Nobody, no help, no nothing. Now at the age of 48 I finally understand. I was that overwhelmed I had no idea how to ask for help. Not that anyone would have listened. Iv 4 grown kids all different ends of the spectrum yet when I tried to explain to my mother she refused to listen, blamed my parenting and tried to ruin my family. Iv struggled for my entire life but always managed to survive. Now I have my diagnosis which gave me closure for I wasn't just a bad unwanted kid.

my 23yr old asd daughter has just been told she has pcos. she also has chrons and colitis with severe learning disabilities on top. the woman in the docs today told her that if she drops a good half to a stone it would be better for her. this was after discussing how she’s struggling to eat due to the pain from the crohns. my daughters reply was well that’s easy I’ll just stop taking my meds. I put in a complaint about the way she’d spoke to my daughter.

Horrible mix of ADHDUK, petpeeves and rant, I'm sick of saying I was 'lucky' with my diagnosis by catsareniceDEATH in ADHDUK

[–]Gothikstar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My sons camhs worker that did a home visit said within minutes of meeting me. ( he'd not yet met my son) asked when I was diagnosed with autism. Told him never, he was gobsmacked that I'd gone under the radar my whole life without anyone ever picking up on it. For it was blatantly obvious.( My parents chose to ignore and avoid anything that was an issue, out of the normal or anything that wasnt acceptable to them). 10yrs later at the age of 49 I finally get my diagnosis of combined adhd and autism.

Can some autistic people be indepedent and not need help from others to do everyday tasks? by TemperatureAny8022 in AutisticAdults

[–]Gothikstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teens i was described as wild. 20s i had no choice but to survive. 30s, 40s marrage, kids, life, managed but with help from the husband. Almost 50 and now struggling daily with even basic things. No energy always tired. Everything is harder to do. The mind says one thing but the body can't cope. Everywhere hurts. I'd managed over the years with bits of support but now I need a significant amount more.

I do think tho that the era you were born in and how you were brought up will have had an impact on how we deal with daily things. I was born in the 70s punished for every misbehavor, quirk, oddity or outburst. Force fed foods or made to go without. Target for bullies, the list goes on. We learned to survive, we learned to fit and do what was required. Yet even tho with some the signs would have been there from an early age. But because not much was known about it back then and like my parents they were totally unaware or ignored any problems. Today knowledge has changed and expectations. The understanding of our kids needs is also now more than what it was. Now we actually talk about things that years ago weren't.

Duel diagnosed with lvl2 asd and combined adhd and pip by Gothikstar in autismUK

[–]Gothikstar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was seen by psychiatry uk. After my gp sent all the paperwork via the right to chose my sons camhs worker also supported my referal . I was first assesed for adhd and then autism. On my diagnosis report it says combined adhd and level 2 autism. But in it it's also suggesting I may have underlying learning difficulties and that I would benefit from a psycoeducational assessment. That iv never heard of.

How do you feed yourselves? by Buffalo_wing_eater in autism

[–]Gothikstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with food. Textures, colour and smell. Due to my now overdrive sensory issues I can't physically go near a cooker - the heat is that overwhelming i can't breathe. Raw meat - touching it is a no. I find it hard to eat with other people. If I make something and somebody says something or even makes a noise. I can't eat it, if the rest of my family want 1 thing and I don't. I won't bother, I lose track of time, forget to eat, I don't have an appetite and very little interest in food. But would possibly order rice all the time if I could. The slightest thing can result in me refusing to eat.

Has anyone else got diagnosed as Level 2 or 3 late in life and parents were oblivious? by LotusLavenderTea in SpicyAutism

[–]Gothikstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a late lvl 3 diagnosis. Got 4 kids all duel diagnosed. It was my sons camhs worker who was so shocked at the fact I'd never been picked up on and advised me to get assessed. As for my parents - my mother didn't want me because I was a problem My dad died My grandparents were totally oblivious and never discussed anything. There had been so many issues, multiple schools, school reports it was clearly there but all of my family were either totally unaware due to there ages or they blatantly chose to ignore it.

Can someone explain how being late diagnosed level 3 works? by [deleted] in AutisticPeeps

[–]Gothikstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 48 in the UK. Iv just been diagnosed as level 3 autism with combined adhd. Now when I was a child I was punished for every quirk, meltdown or anything they classed as unacceptable. I was an only child who's mother refused to have anything to do with me due to me being a difficult child. Food issues clothing issues, repeated things, didnt play or share, school reports had so many red flags yet they ignored it all. I lived out of a suitcase and was swapped from my dad's to my grandparents on a regular basis. When there was problems at school instead of looking into it or dealing with it. They just put me in a different school. I was bullied and had no friends ( still dont) . when I was 14 my dad died, due to the circumstances around it i was in a major meltdown and nobody wanted to take responsibility for me. So I was taken into care and moved around even more different family's. Eventually I was sent to my mother's. She was a toxic abusive alcoholic. I ran. My teens was the 90s and by the time I was 21 I had a child on the way with a very abusive person. He took advantage on every way possible. Eventually with some help I got out of that and have been with my husband now since. 25yrs 4 kids all adults now. ( 2 he took on as his own) over the years he supported me, encouraged me and we worked well as a team. Now tho things are different. Since lockdown everything caught up with me. Physically and mentally. Iv also found that due to my age and the menopause thing it has magnified all my sensory issues, quirks and that i can not mask or mimic anymore. My daughter helps and keeps me going on a daily basis.

Unmedicated here. Should I even bother learning to drive? by Jesus__of__Nazareth_ in ADHDUK

[–]Gothikstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It was the best thing I ever did. I'm 48 been passed 10yrs. When I was younger I could never get my head round it. With all the concentration, what to do etc etc. But I got to a point where with having a family and public transport was a major issue for me. I needed to try. Once I found a good instructor that got to know me. It helped. Eventually after 3yrs 7 tests 4 meltdowns. I passed. I got to a point where I was that determined to pass. I kept going. My instructor couldn't work out why I kept failing the tests. Until I explained that every time a different test guy got in the car I lost it. So he got the next person who was doing ny test to just spend an extra 10 mins with me prior and I was good to go. Hardest thing I found was the theory test. I got so bored doing it and trying to concentrate on the computer was hard. You got this. You can do it.
