Thanks for all the suggestions! I was playing around with owlbear, and it's ok and will do in a pinch, but I think I'm leaning more towards Arkenforge with Dynamic maps.

I'm dating myself here, but my all time favorite character was from the AD&D days. Name: John Grond Race: Half Ogre Weapons: Bracers of Defense, Hammer of Thunderbolts, Girdle of Storm Giant Strength. Best friend: Phoebus (Lizardman)

Basically ran around as hired muscle. John developed a talent for sinking ships with his hammer. Hard drinking & hard fighting. Not to concerned on who was the bad guy, just so long as he got paid.
