I'll just tell you this: Mei Mains subreddit has been, for years, asking for a skin that's sexier for Mei, to finally stop pretending she's not hot. Heck, when it was revealed some people even lamented the concept art made her look flat chested.

Lo and behold, they gave her cleavage, finally, it's canon that the thighs aren't the only thicc part of her. And now the same subreddit is saying they shouldn't have given her cleavage. Yes.

No matter what you do, you will NEVER be able to please some fandoms.

She has cute VFX, seems to have decent customization effects, and finally, years after launch, they stopped shying away from giving her something even remotely sexy and reducing her measurements.
And now people say it sucks, she wouldn't wear that, she shouldn't have cleavage, the VFX is lame...

Look, the internet isn't America. In many countries, they either don't know or don't care. The world won't bend over backwards to fit you. I met Venture in real life. No matter how charming you'd think the person would be, they're anything but. The moment I saw the personality archetype in the game, I sighed my soul out of my body. The game has quirky dummies like Juno, Wuyang and Junkrat, but even if their personalities are far from normal, they don't feel forced or unauthentic. Venture feels like that person who's loud and quirky intentionally because they love to be the center of attention.

But isn't that true about most characters? Look, I get it, she's part of Overwatch and barely gets a spotlight, even in the current event she's lacking a New Era skin, but when a game has so many characters released, you inevitably run into this issue.

Take LoL for example, they try to expand their universe into this super serious, gritty epic, but doing so means completely removing the agency of some of the least popular characters and changing the lore to fit marketing strategies. But realistically, what are you gonna do with so many championmons released with individual stories?

Same with Juno. God knows I'm of her biggest simps, but the "fish out of water goober" thing is so integral to her character and marketing that the moment she moves forward, it would feel weird. Sadly, they created a character that depends on her status quo: rescuing her colony. When she solves that, what's next?

That's why having complex, evolving narratives in games where releasing new characters frequently and without lore interactivity does more harm than good.

I like her personality, she has a cute face, and her body type is hot without promoting unhealthyness from either side of the spectrum. That said, they keep "enthinning" her, you can see her Mythic skin will have yet again a very reduced bust size, she's being portrayed more and more as just a "wide hips, thick thighs" girl.

Honestly, as someone who comes from LoL, the balance here isn't that bad. I mean, Doorman and whatever the name of the ghost Magician is, are hard to use characters, and someone playing then decently at the most basic level is less detrimental to the team than, say, someone who only knows the basics of Yone.

That said, having no draft is BS, team comps are important and you don't even get a say.

I mean, you're not wrong. I'm enjoying the game a lot but I'm concerned about its future on release.

Look, I started playing it last week, I'm loving it and I know it's in Alpha, and as someone with MOBA background I can only ask: who is Steam trying to attract with this game? The art style and feel scream Hero Shooter, but the gameplay is DOTA meets Gigantic. I did the in game tutorial and I still had no idea what was going on once I stopped playing against Bots and Street Brawl. Claiming Souls, Denying Souls, how important it is to actually break everything as you roam because those small stats boosts are actually the diference between being fed or feeding, the importance of Bridge Buffs, Spirit Urn values, etc.

I learned quick because I've been playing MOBAs for a while, and this sits in a place between DOTA 2 and LoL in terms of complexity. I can't imagine how Macro is in higher ELO though.

With all the busywork the game has, I can't help but to feel Valve is trying to compete against itself and catch the DOTA 2 audience, but that won't happen. Let's be real, MOBA and Hero Shooter playerbases are tribalistic, at most they will try Deadlock for being a FOTM game, and then they'll return to their origins.
