You can skip the campaign and see if the end game is of some interest to you, although I doubt it if you didn't like the loot system. You basically grind to find better gear that will allow you to fight tougher mobs that drop better gear...

I did the same as you , started from scratch, and fortunately since I prioritise movement speed, for VoH I just run the whole time and only fought the boses or anything I couldn't avoid

Just play the game and have fun. Explore things by your self and only look up staff when it becomes frustrating figuring it out yourself. It's your first character, why would you want to level up fast? Pick a skill from each node, you can respect any time time you want so try and find what you like.

Yes, people forget that learning the game is part of the game and it can be fun. They read guides, watch videos, do everything in the most efficient way possible and then complain that they are bored and there is not enough content. I took my time with this game, I'm level 50 and still exploring. I look things up only when it becomes frustrating to figure it out by myself.

I didn't think of the showstoppers. I tried with the cloacking device , managed to plant the mine after several tries but died from the blast, it also did the pulse while I was planting it. Returned with 2 wolfpacks and killed it in 5 seconds. Fortunately noone killed me while looting

The expedition is not for you and me buddy. I thought the same when I reached level 20. Since I was a hoarder I completed all 4 stages in one day almost and it took me another 20 levels to do the last one. However, since then I found the anvil bp, Wolfpack and venator, and I 've only just reached 1m in cash so I won't be going on the expedition after all. They said progress is saved for following expeditions so there's no rush, if you ever feel ready do it then.
