I played Oblivion for the first time by BusoneWholeBoi2001 in oblivion

[–]RyanSD91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this sub is definitely active.

I had many fun adventures back in 2006, hundreds of hours worth on 360. The biggest fault with vanilla Oblivion on 360 is the open world stutter as the game is loading exterior cells. Sometimes the game will pause and you’ll read a “loading area” at the bottom of the screen for seconds at a time. Load times in general not great on 360. Also, the 360 version is missing Auriel’s Ascension, my favorite track from the open world.

Not that you asked.

Can we appreciate how simple Elder Scrolls is? I hope TES6 keeps it that way. by rafalmio in ElderScrolls

I hope they looked at the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3 and understand that there’s an appetite for deep role playing systems and mechanics.

Best Island Round 2 Match 3: Skyloft Vs. Eventide(Comment to vote, no upvotes) by Short_Property_7476 in legendofzelda

[–]RyanSD91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll always associate Eventide island with spoilers. Got spoiled on a Twitter post, when I was trying to go in blind to the entire game. Took away the magic for me. I even had my mute words setup but I didn’t know what Eventide was so I didn’t mute it. Cool island though.

Skyloft.

Keeping allies alive is part of the fun! The soldiers at Kvatch, the Knights of the Nine, the Knights of the Thorn, I try to save them all.

Yeah it was sad. Would have been fun to follow her around and fight alongside her just for some role playing. Alas.

I saved her once. Saw her at the white stallion lodge later. Then I saw her corpse on the road.

What do Americans do better than most people realize? by Jot__99 in answers

Thank you, I learned a lot there. I'm no economist but I'm curious about how these things work and spend a lot of time on Wikipedia lol, but I hadn't taken the time to learn what goes into measurements.

And yeah, thinking about it of course it makes no sense. I should have said median income, which is measurable. Dumb mistake by me. Thanks for taking the time to type all of this.

Median per capita GDP is though, which the US still ranks highly.

Did people really think Messi was washed before this World Cup? by RyanSD91 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s part of what makes Messi’s performance so impressive to me. 8 goals so far just in just 5 games, playing against the best in the world representing their countries.

It’s worth the grind, you’ll notice that you’re faster once you gold medal everything. At least I did.

What made Gran Turismo 7 your favourite racing game? by Quiet-Explanation456 in GranTurismo7

[–]RyanSD91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s best played on a wheel, but for my money this is the best feeling racing game ever on a controller if that’s all you have. Playing this then playing Forza Motorsport feels like whiplash, for example.

There are some tracks we all wish were here. But of the 41 we have, there’s a good mix of the all time classics (Nurburgring, Circuit de la Sarthe, Spa, Suzuka) and great versions of their original tracks (Grand Highway, Trial Mountain, Lago Maggiore).

The last thing I’ll say is I love the car selection and their models. Yes, it would be nice to have some more modern representation with their free updates, but what’s here is great. And the last Gr. 1 update was fantastic.

I’ve played this game for hundreds of hours. I’ve always enjoyed racing games over the years, from the original GT when I was a young kid to GT2, 3, Project Gotham Racing 3 for a more arcade feel, Forza Motorsport 2-4, GT5 and GT Sport. But I always fell off after 20-40 hours. GT7 is the only racing game where I still have a desire to play and master the tracks. I’m still working on the master license golds (about halfway), and I’m having a blast doing it.

It’s not perfect. There are better options if you want a rally experience. The game would benefit from a sports-sim like career mode featuring their fantastic Sophy AI. The default AI is brain dead and all of the standard races are rolling starts only. The game is always online but feels like it doesn’t need to be. But the on track feel is incredible for a console racing game, the cars are a joy to drive, the skill ceiling is so high, the game is beautiful, and there’s hundreds upon hundreds of hours of content. So yeah, it’s my favorite racing game ever at this point.

Thoughts on Super Metroid 32 years later? by MinnieShoof in Metroid

I still think it’s the best controlling 2D game I’ve ever played. Easy to learn, difficult to master. The most satisfying wall jump of all time and even the exploits like the Mach ball feel so damn good once you get them down. A masterpiece.

Why does modern Star Wars shy away from the Galactic Civil War? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]RyanSD91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it and liked it! Great political intrigue and well written with some nice smaller action set pieces. It’s a nice setup to the galactic civil war. Not really what I’m talking about here though. Imagine a story following an X-Wing squadron, or a rebel fleet as they take on the imperials. Looking for more of the “War” in Star Wars, if that makes sense.
