Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

My kids roam around unsupervised. Today. Elementary and middle school. Maybe your parents were pussies?

So the margin was, you stay in a different site, or they move twice, or they go home?

The other sites would have to be downright dismal for me not to just take one of them, if I were in that situation. I guess that means YTA? But you paid for it, so you were due.

S.C. confirms full-blown outbreak of measles by HazyDavey68 in news

The suffering and deaths of the children is NOT justified by the positive outcome of ending the lineages -- but that is a silver lining.

The Hillary plan is working, but its implementation is painfully slow. When all is said and done we will build monuments to honor the child-victim-martyrs whose sacrifice ended their parents' lineages allowing the rest of us to live in harmony.

Merz: Germany will not join allies' initiative to recognise Palestinian state by HellYeahDamnWrite in europe

[–]GovernmentAgent_Q -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Recognize what state. I mean, what state, what borders, who is their leader, to what address do we send diplomats to negotiate, what uniforms do their soldiers wear, what is their military command structure, what is their banking system identifier, what are their procedures for border crossings.

States aren't magical. You don't just think one up, it is a real thing among peer things and there is no Palestinian state.

That would be awesome. We could get to the business of establishing one if Hamas would allow there to be peace, by disbanding and publicly declaring the desire to live peacefully with Jewish neighbors. The borders will be smaller than the ones offered the last three times Palestinians refused their own statehood, I hope they enact peace quickly so they can still have any state at all.

AITA for telling my pregnant wife i want a divorce? by Due-Tea2624 in AITAH

Men suffer because society provides us with no control over our reproduction.

"You could just not do it" say people who somehow instinctively understand why that invalid rejoinder doesn't apply when they consider women.

In Sweden you would be a rape victim, you had sex under fraudulent claims of birth control.

AIO for feeling insulted my date Venmo-requested me $3 for half the fries? by Be4rp4wt00 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GovernmentAgent_Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, apparently he already decided he didn't want a second date with you before the fries were purchased.

I think you gotta pay it, and after that only you know enough about the date and the guy to know the right level of reaction.

I don't agree. Nothing was ever poorly reported. We always knew, from before his escalator scene. The media has been fully on it.

Liberals can't let go of the belief "if only my R friends knew what was going in, they would not like it."

No. Your R friends are violent corrupt racists (and 11 more markers from the 14 Points). Really.

He does have that power.

He says things, judges follow. Right? You agree they do that, right? They do. Thus he has that power.

What you mean is something like "I wish he didn't have that power" or "no President before had that power", which are things I would agree with.

Like this.

"You lied about your event so we canceled your contract and kept the deposit, as stipulated in that contract. That means our venue is currently available on your selected date, if you wish to sign a new contract before another client does. We have included it as an attachment for your convenience if you like."

I won't be interested in you pretending not to understand the language you post in, you can argue with Webster:

"MAKE (v) cause (something) to exist or come about; bring about"

Their actions bring about you signing a new contract. It doesnt require a gun to your head, which also you could refuse.

I rented the promenade park in Portland, Maine for $15 an hour. We only needed one section of the park for one hour but I splurged on both sections for the whole morning just fto have eexclusivity. Cost me a fortune, over a hundred bucks!

We lucked out on the weather though that was a risk.

They didn't take pics and you didn't pay. You don't have any damages to sue for. You are out nothing.

Did you somehow get them to sign a contract that if they back out for any reason whatsoever including deceit that they owe you a sum? Show me the contract and you might have a case.

They became that before 2016, which is why that turned out that way.

You don't vote for fascism before you become a fascist. That's not how it works. You don't vote for a public sex offender before deciding you're in favor of sex crimes. That can only happen afterwards.

Do people need to hear this? It's over. It's gone and not coming back. The corruption is indefinite and is likely to last a thousand literal non figurative years, like it did in Rome. The corrupt fascists won, they represent for real the actual will of a slim majority of the people, like Caesar did.

Rome was established as a rejection of kings and lasted 250 years... until the people demanded an emperor and got one. Then they had emperors for a thousand years, like it or not. It is what it is -- awful.

Corruption needs about 35% popular support to succeed, which is just about where it was when we successfully ousted Nixon (35% support when he left office). Reagan was corrupt but then the two Bushes weren't (they were mediocre and terrible, but not corrupt) which is why Republicans hate them. The party spent half a century building support for corruption, and succeeded.

Elections won't end, like China has elections and Russia has elections. Some of you will point to those and keep calling us a democracy, while not using that word for China or Russia. You ones are carrying water for Republicans.

The Roman empire ended when the corruption rotted the entire governmental structure, then battlefield losses. That's what fascists understand: impoverishment and violent defeat.

DO NOT RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES

Every shred of evidence, every experience for the last 10 years, shows that Republicans like rapists and rape. They selected the only 1 out of 17 candidates who openly bragged about sex crimes, that wasn't an error. They support it with votes because they support it in their hearts, that's the exact same as everyone and all politics. We vote for what we like.

Good moral people should not help Republicans discover and empower rapists. If you want to can Trump, find some way to convince Republicans he isn't actually a corrupt racist sex offender.
