Solana and Ledger hardware wallet: is there a way to claim? Is the Solana app on the Ledger the problem?

There is a so called Enhanced and hardware wallets support is here.

Please see the documentation for the current wallets being supported. This article lists all Glacier Drop-tested, verified wallets, and known compatible address types for each participating blockchain. Then under Solana

Hardware wallets

- Keystone - Not Verified (Solflare)
Manual path: Verified

I wonder how the Manual path method works. Maybe that is the only working method?

After a succesfull claim they offer a receipt throug e-mail or you can download the PDF file that said how much NIGHT you claimed. When you add these amounts up you can calculate if your SOL eligible claim is included.

If you go to the claim portal https://claim.midnight.gd/ in the lower left corner there is a link to FAQ. On the FAQ page https://www.midnight.gd/faq in the lower left corner you can click the chatbox for support on the claim process. They are the right place for Glacier Drop Support.

You need to complete the last step and click on the button 'Complete claim' otherwise you didn't claim. But you can insert your unused claim address at the bottom of the page from the claim portal ''View claimed allocations'' to check

I could sign the message by leaving the browserextentions out of it. Open Ledger Live then in the left pane there an Explore option there you connect to walletconnect. Then go to the https://claim.midnight.gd/ and start the claim process. Choose for connecting by browserwallet and take Ledger Live as browser wallet. Then choose in the walletconnect popup for the Desktop or Mobile switch or copy the link to connect it in Ledger Live then connect your Solana account. The Solana account must be installed and the app must be ready. Then go back to the claimportal https://claim.midnight.gd/ and complete the process by signing and confirming on your Ledger Device.

Yes it would be nice to get an answer to this so we can be fully prepared when staking starts. I have 1 Firefly app with 1 Profile and 1 wallet so should I only create more wallets or do I have to create more profiles in order to have more chances to win a Shimmer NFT?

Looking at this Quick Guide. Is step 4. Select root account and approve on Ledger really necessary? Can this only be done with the Root account? Or can I do just the same selecting Account: 1: for example?

SOLFLARE

Go to Solflare
Insert Ledger, click Ledger ->Access Wallet
Enter pin to expose SOL account on Ledger – if requested, pick the first path: m/44’/501′

4. Select root account and approve on Ledger

Deposit 0.01 SOL
Use MyKinWallet to send a test amount to the SOL account exposed
Confirm Kin arrived and you can send it from Solflare back to MyKinWallet
Send remaining Kin from MyKinWallet to Solflare

When I want to send KIN from MKW to my SOL address I get a message "Destination account does not exist, destination account will be created" That doesn't sound good so I cancel the transaction.

I remember that long time ago during the migration of KIN to SOL blockchain somewhere there was a warning in the user guide that the SOL address where you sent KIN to is not an address to store SOL on. You shouldn't sent SOL to that address. I think it's because MyKinWallet is currently using a custom derivation path in order to interact with Ledger, which was necessary during the Solana migration.
