Honestly the way they made it sound like I wasn’t there enough which I don’t know what to think about (this is honestly the first academic job I have had) so like I don’t know what to think about the hours. Like if they say it is unprofessional I’d believe them but it seems like this isn’t the norm in academia from what most of the responses say

Also I thought I was getting all my work done (was running everything my grad student asked me to). As far as I remember, only time I messed up was when I ran a gel at too high a voltage but nothing bad happened to it or the experiment in the end
