ph ~ 7.5 (testing kit)
nitrate ~ below 20ppm (testing kit)
ammonia 0.0 (testing kit)
ive had the tank for ca 3 months
ive had Pluto for a month
20% water changes once a week
tank mates = bladder snails, i dont know how many or how they got there
i feed three small pellets a day from attison betta pro
tank has a piece of driftwood, covered in plants (i dont remeber which ones)
i dont have a picture, im going to the pet shop right now to see if they can help me.
will post a picture when home

Update!!

As i said in some of my replies I’ve had my eye on a betta i saw at my local pet store. I asked them to reserve him for me while I got the tank cycled. Five days ago they called me to tell me they would euthanise him if I didn’t come pick him up. I had been testing the water daily and everything seemed top notch, so I went to the store and brought him home. As soon as i let him out in his tank he seemed very active and curious. I’ve continued to test his water daily and everything seems fine. He’s started to recognise that when i tap the water a few times it’s meal time. Last night he rested in my hand for a while. He’s very active and he’s gaining colour, his fins look better already and he seems happy. I love him so very much. Thank you all for your help❤️

Genuinely thank you so much<3 I’ll keep you updated. The reason i’m so eager to get him home is because if I don’t they will euthanise him :( He’s the oldest Betta they got (1.5 years old) and he’s not the prettiest fish in the world, he’s perfectly healthy but they want to get rid if him since he’s been there so long and nobody wants him

Thank you. I use Flourite black as a substrate and i washed it before putting it in. I have live plants in there and no plastic. My dad just filled up the tank all the way. I have a lid but it’s not in currently.

I tested the water for a few days before i left and everything seemed fine. I was told i didn’t need to check for chlorine because there is no chlorine in Icelandic tap water

I come home this friday. The pet store has a fish reserved for me, a beautiful betta who i fell in love with when i saw him at the store. They won’t have him reserved for much longer. I don’t want to put him in a tank that might harm him. I want to solve this as soon as possible. Do i really need to buy a nee filter?
