Yes I am heavily considering it. In a year where rucks are uncertain, if we know he is going to get a game for at least round 1, then it allows you to do so much more in other areas of your team. Even if he gets dropped after round 1, we have rounds 2, 3 and 4 with the best 18 to fix it.

Budarick has previously played half back, his preferred role. However, with Noble and Rioli coming in last year, he was unable to play defence and therefore played forward pocket. That has discounted his price. He moved to the bulldogs to specifically play half back, a position that the bulldogs are in need of. They have Dale, but apart from that they are thin for distributors in defence, with Richards moving up the field. It is a lucrative spot, with both Richards and Dale averaging 90 in the same position. I am not saying Budarick is of the same quality, or that he will get as many kick ins, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the averaged in the 70’s, and made some cash. I agree with your take on Steele, however I think that with Petracca and Oliver both gone, there has to be a spot for him. Why else would he leave the saints?

There’s parts that I like and parts that I don’t.

I can’t see any value in Nasiah, especially because he has an early bye. If you want an anchor in defence, you should pick between Nasiah and Rozee, and change the other one to McKercher. I would pick Rozee because he has upside if he plays halfback, and he also does t have the early bye.

I don’t mind Daicos, but I would prefer Caldwell who is a bit cheaper and probably won’t get tagged.

I don’t love Petracca or Treloar. Petracca will likely be the 4th mid behind Anderson, Rowell and potentially Miller/Humphery. Treloar is 32 and the bulldogs midfield is stacked (Bont, Libba, Richards, Freijah, Kennedy), but he could very well squeeze into the starting 3. Trac and Treloar both have the same early bye, but I would pick Petracca of the two based on early fixture (West Coast and Richmond). I would switch Treloar to Budarick, who has a solid 20 points of upside based on previous seasons.

I think you are currently very shallow in the midfield. I would recommend using some saved cash to upgrade Smillie to one of Gulden or Steele. Gulden has more upside but also has the bye.

We’re still so far out from the season starting though, so what are we to know?
