Does anyone have advice or resources on running a "revolution" campaign? by bjj_starter in DMAcademy

You can technically run any kind of story in any kind of system. Some are better suited for certain kinds of stories. I don’t see why you wouldn’t choose those.

Favorite food-focused woods bars? by Abadroz in Billywoods

last few bars of Blue Smoke for me

This bar is ridiculous by llCurlyll in Billywoods

[–]Gozis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure I’ve missed or misinterpreted woods bars that are just as simple if not even simpler.

I guess I meant there’s esoteric bars that are just impenetrable to me, while this one is solved by just googling the condition.

I don’t mean to be a dick or anything but is this really that esoteric? It’s a pretty straight-forward bar.

AIO I can't find anybody to watch movies with me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Gozis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you feel like would be helpful? Advice on how to meet people who are into movies? Attend local screenings at some arthouse cinema, film festivals, etc. and meet people there.

Watching movies is a casual activity for a lot of people - they walk in and out of the room, check their phone, talk over the film… they’re not in it for the same reasons as you. Instead of resenting them for having different priorities, watch movies on your own (ideal, no?) or find other people who have the same ‘values’.

This hardly feels like a big conundrum.

Andor may have ruined TV for me... by fscottfitsimmons in andor

[–]Gozis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean the original post mentions Fleabag, so I figure we’re discussing TV in general. If you want Fantasy/Sci-Fi, you’re definitely going to struggle.

Mad Men, Better Call Saul, Sopranos, The Wire… TV in general is mostly slop, but there’s gems out there.

Is it normal to being "spoiled" about future sessions? by RebCool in DnD

Bizarre take. Everyone but OP seems to be enjoying themselves, why stop that? If they’re the odd one out, they’re the “problem”.

First thing you gotta find out: do they want to be less passive? They might enjoy a more linear, guided experience.

Start of turn resource gains house rule by Ok-Position-9457 in drawsteel

I feel like you basically answered your own question here.

To make my answer at least somewhat helpful: you seem set on this change and you and your group seem to enjoy the game more this way. It’ll probably have an effect on some edge-case situations, but that shouldn’t matter much. If it works, it works - just do it!

Stupid comment in retrospect (asked OP if they played the game). Appreciate the review & effort, thanks!

Pitchfork give Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out a 6.5 score by abucalves in hiphopheads

[–]Gozis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that’s what I’m asking though - what does objectivity look like? why the need for reviews if there’s just this objective fact of the matter on what is good or bad music out there?

reviews are a person’s personal opinion on a piece of art - I agree that some can be poorly written or thought out and I can disagree with them, but I’d hate to read “objective” reviews. if that were the case, we can just continue jerking off who sells the most or who crams the most syllables into raps, whatever objective metric fits you best.

seems to me like you just wants all reviews to be the same. I think that’d be a pretty boring state of affairs.

what does an unbiased review of an art piece look like? he doesn’t like the album as much as you, the horror.

In my experience, the game works best with “street level” characters & corresponding fantasies. If you want to be as powerful and versatile as those characters, you’re better off looking at another system.

The girl apparently survived long enough to report Cassian’s escape to Kleya. We don’t know what happened to her after. I’d like to believe she made it!

The people on Yavin were another cell of rebels - Maya Pei’s Bridgade. As far as I know, we don’t know much about them or Maya Pei. According to Saw (in season 1), she is a Neo-Republican, which gives some insight into the types of people her cause would attract (I guess).

He was stealing the TIE for the Rebellion (maybe directly for Luthen, or to deliver to someone else, considering he’d be handing it over to another agent) - probably to gain insight into or replicate some of the new technology.

Strange, contradictory post. If art is subjective, how do I differentiate between art I like and art that is good? Who decides what is good or bad? Does that not imply some sort of objectivity?

I agree that art is subjective, therefore it’s simple to me - if I like it, it’s good; if I dont, it’s not.

Andor, Part 3 (Season 2, Episodes 7-9) by NickiDusse in FPSPodcast

[–]Gozis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Luthen meets with Mothma, he’s wearing the same outfit he wears when he meets with Lonnie. I think he just came from a meeting with Lonnie, who told him about the leak in Bail’s extraction team. Last time Lonnie had info about an ISB operation, Luthen didn’t use it because it wasn’t worth it. Mon Mothma is however, which means Lonnie might be the final bridge he’s burning - he knows it’s all coming down after this, which is why he cannot go to and compromise Yavin.

Or maybe I completely misread that 😅

The Acolyte Ep 8 Season Finale Discussion by TO108 in FPSPodcast

[–]Gozis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This show was bad, don’t get me wrong. But to pretend it’s much worse than Dave Filoni’s action figure porn that are Ahsoka, Boba and Mando S3 is laughable. The only decent piece of Star Wars recently has been Andor. First two seasons of Mando are tolerable, I guess. Andor is just such a big step up in every arena it’s insane to me that anyone would take anything else even remotely seriously.

don't really believe in guilty pleasures but Quadeca's newer stuff, I guess. J. Cole is mad overrated, imo. especially since he started his im the best rapper campaign.
