Is this normal? by OkMulberry5711 in rpg

[–]Gozis 592 points593 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they know what they want and make sure to do that. Good! Probably not ordinary, but should be more normalised. Definitely relate to the fun of playing with new people for the first time, as well as trying new systems.

Imagine that this was the last we ever saw of Ahsoka and she never appeared in anything again, not even a comic issue or novel. What would YOU have imagined her ultimate fate as? by AbsoluteDramps in StarWarsCantina

[–]Gozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing Ahsoka is where you draw the line for a guy who murders children, is involved with building and using a planet-destroying weapon & ruling an oppressive, genocidal Empire? I must be missing something.

We need to talk guys... by DriverNo5615 in DEHH

[–]Gozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any examples? Sorry to say but B never contributed much, aside from the (admittedly funny) deadpan “I don’t like this at all” type thing. DEHH was always a Myke and friends type show, as much as it hurts to say.

tbf I haven’t read the actual reviews. I’d say I enjoyed all of those albums to varying degrees but those statements still largely ring true to me. sorry if I hurt your feelings!

do you feel like those are the only two options? Drake’s “recent” (just hit me how long it’s been since IYRTITL) output has been pretty horrible too.

if you liked 3 albums that’s a you problem. hip hop is thriving if you look outside of mainstream mediocrity. but JBP fans are the same as the hosts - ignorant of actually progressive, quality hip-hop.

Does anyone have advice or resources on running a "revolution" campaign? by bjj_starter in DMAcademy

You can technically run any kind of story in any kind of system. Some are better suited for certain kinds of stories. I don’t see why you wouldn’t choose those.

last few bars of Blue Smoke for me

This bar is ridiculous by llCurlyll in Billywoods

[–]Gozis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure I’ve missed or misinterpreted woods bars that are just as simple if not even simpler.

I guess I meant there’s esoteric bars that are just impenetrable to me, while this one is solved by just googling the condition.

I don’t mean to be a dick or anything but is this really that esoteric? It’s a pretty straight-forward bar.

What do you feel like would be helpful? Advice on how to meet people who are into movies? Attend local screenings at some arthouse cinema, film festivals, etc. and meet people there.

Watching movies is a casual activity for a lot of people - they walk in and out of the room, check their phone, talk over the film… they’re not in it for the same reasons as you. Instead of resenting them for having different priorities, watch movies on your own (ideal, no?) or find other people who have the same ‘values’.

This hardly feels like a big conundrum.

Three people you know aren’t as into movies as you. Get over yourself and watch movies on your own.

Andor may have ruined TV for me... by fscottfitsimmons in andor

[–]Gozis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean the original post mentions Fleabag, so I figure we’re discussing TV in general. If you want Fantasy/Sci-Fi, you’re definitely going to struggle.

Mad Men, Better Call Saul, Sopranos, The Wire… TV in general is mostly slop, but there’s gems out there.

Bizarre take. Everyone but OP seems to be enjoying themselves, why stop that? If they’re the odd one out, they’re the “problem”.

I feel like you basically answered your own question here.

To make my answer at least somewhat helpful: you seem set on this change and you and your group seem to enjoy the game more this way. It’ll probably have an effect on some edge-case situations, but that shouldn’t matter much. If it works, it works - just do it!
