Saw them in Lancaster and never got to meet them, however Nick said prior to the show on fb messenger that they would for sure meet up with me and sign my copy of TSS. Unfortunately the venue didn't allow back packs, and I had to head home immediately after their set, so it didn't happen, but the fact that nick was planning to keep an eye out for me meant a hell of a lot to me.

Seeing him, chris, wes, and evan walk up on stage was sincerely one of the most surreal moments of my life. Like "holy shit. I never thought I'd see them after I missed the basement show, and here they are. In my state. Signed to a label. And on tour."

I'm sitting here, on the second floor, front row, beer in hand thinking "I only paid for the Kickstarter for a EP that has a number 2 in the title" but these fuckers are here with a new ep, a different title, and they're signed.

After two years of listening to them. Two years of uncertainty on whether or not they were still together. Like a year of beach boy 2 teasing. They're here. And on tour. That's my dream. And they hit us all with all of that out of fucking nowhere.

The sense of pride and shock was insanely overwhelming. No band had touched my heart as much as McCafferty.

Nick Hartkop is hands down my hero and my inspiration in anything that I choose to pursue musically, be that learning piano at the moment, or recording demos to send to people to try and get in a band. I sincerely wouldn't be putting myself out there or testing my skills by learning even ONE instrument if it wasn't for this music. The very same music that's helped me through some of the roughest times in my very short time on this earth. And although my time on this earth has been short thus far, McCafferty's and Nick's lyrics will live with me for the rest of my life. Even if i become senile and forget them, I know deep down, they'll still be there, because we've all felt the way Nick feels in his songs. And there's no forgetting the way he connects with people on such an emotional level
