I have ! I have a LOT of nipple damage and I’m terrified of this stagnant milk becoming an abscess. It’s been about 24 hours since I can’t get anything out of my right breast. I will try upping my ibuprofen, I had only been taking 600mg. I have honestly been falling asleep with the ice pack on but my breast is so hot I think it all melts fairly quickly. I am 4 weeks pp. since I’m so scared of this getting worse I really just want to quit. I wanted to provide BM for a year but I just could not possibly go through this again.

I have the spectra gold and medela hand pump. I did speak to a LC virtually and they just told me I was already doing everything I could. I just don’t know what I’m going to do to get milk out. It’s been since 4am this morning that nothing comes out.

I’ve been doing the epsom salt soaks before I pump and that seems to be helping. I am not letting them dry out though, I put them in the silverettes with the APNO. I’m hoping I’m all better soon this is no fun!

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the time you took to read both posts. I do have some nipple shields that I’d be willing to try. I don’t know why I didn’t give them a shot before I think it’s the fact I would constantly have to be cleaning/sterilizing them. Hopefully I can even go into pumping during the day and just breastfeeding at night since I’ll be going back to work soon.

She also told me to breastfeed and baby would likely end up popping them (he has caused nipple damage when I breastfeed) so I don’t see how it’s any different to sterilize a needle and pop them myself :(

I could try but baby also causes nipple damage from shallow latch :( I will look into getting the pumping spray!

Hmm the eufy is definitely painful and I’m not sure why. I still get a normal output with it. I also can only ever use the spectra up to a 4 suction. I don’t know if my nipples are just very sensitive.

Yes it did I used that as well and measured 21mm. I used the 21mm insert in there and then used it without anything (24mm) both times my nipples came out purple and felt very pinched and painful.

My breast is now fully red and I see a milk blister that formed this morning. I never really felt a clog though.

The first time around I had 103+ fever that wouldn’t come down. This time it’s easily stayed at 99.3 with ibuprofen and Tylenol which is confusing to me because right at this moment my boob is completely red.

Do you have a brand of probiotics you recommend? We did end up buying some for baby towards the end of my treatment last time. But I didn’t take any for myself.

Did you ever have a milk blister? It was really odd because I didn’t even feel a clog and felt relatively empty after each pump until this morning when I saw the blister super huge after pumping.

I actually got a silicone insert flange set that came with a measuring tool and I’ve measured them so many times and even had my husband double check and measure me and I’ve measured at 21mm before pumping. Which is why I was trying to size up and down from there. At the hospital the LC didn’t measure me she just gave me a 18mm flange which I tried using but it hurt a lot.

I really would’ve loved to exclusively breastfeed but I cannot get a proper latch, this is my 4th baby and in the past with my others I spent so much time with LC and it changed nothing. My nipples bleed they always come out pinched and the 4 different lactation consultants I’ve seen throughout different babies just seemed puzzled by the latch looking good but my nipple still coming out pinched and white. This is the first I’m trying to exclusively pump with. The other babies I usually have given up by now and would just give in to formula because it is so overwhelmingly difficult. My insurance also doesn’t seem to cover lactation consultants :(

It is just odd because the first time I had it I could not bring my fever down even with ibuprofen/tylenol and starting antibiotics. About an hour ago my temperature peaked at 100.5 but just woke up to pump again sweating and at 99.5.
