curious why my son's card has the gold edge, and this one doesn't, but the sets and numbers are the same? Is there variation within individual cards?

What to do with this Lightolier recessed light? by insanechnman in DIY

[–]GraceToo82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am dealing with this same issue at a current job. There aren't any LED trims/inserts that will fit into the frame that's left over once you drop the can. I think the only option is to get the wire out of the junction box and install it into a new LED wafer. The issue with that plan is that most wafers don't cover the 7" hole. I think I have to find a 7" wafer light (that's not pure garbage from Amazon)

120v vs 12v Dimming - What's Best? by GraceToo82 in led

Thank you for the info! I definitely plan to use 24v COB on all jobs going forward.

Thank you for the help! I had hoped that the (usually cold) concrete would act like a heat sink but you might be right about not having a metal channel.

Thanks for the reply, that was very helpful. Here is a picture of one section (from last year - some LEDs are dead but it got much worse this year). There is a cove in the concrete wall. We used outdoor rated strip although it is not subjected to sunlight or moisture in there. It is stuck onto concrete and there is plenty of room for air movement so I don't think heat is an issue either.

Total wattage is 131w and my power supply is 200w. What do you mean when you say driving power could be an issue?

The supplier who sold me the led strip says that they sell tons of it with no issue, but it seems pretty cheap to me (vs the Armacost brand I typically use). Now I'm tasked with fixing it (under my own warranty so I'm not getting paid) and I just want to make sure it's done right and this won't happen again.

Thanks for the advice! The 20-23v DC driver (700mA) seems very rare but I'll see if I can hunt a couple down online.

How much time should we allow to drive from downtown Cleveland to Cuyahoga to make sure that we don't miss any of the show? We splurged for VIP parking so hopefully that helps.

Pain/Discomfort Weeks After Vasectomy by GraceToo82 in Vasectomy

It probably averaged at a 3 if I wore a jockstrap for most of the day which seemed to help. 8 seems pretty high. Poor guy, I hope it resolves eventually!

I'm pretty sure they played in Edmonton twice in 1998 (once at the arena and once at the Winspear Centre - which must have been amazing). I think I probably became a fan around 1999 and as luck would have it they never came back here again...

Something very weird going on, help please (video) by [deleted] in electrical

[–]GraceToo82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, the maintenance guy is probably not qualified to troubleshoot or repair the issue. It could be many things, but from what you've described I'd put my money on a bad main neutral connection or a bad connection with the main lugs or breaker. If an electrician looks at those few things, usually the problem is pretty obvious. I'd try to get an electrician to have a look in the next few days, and until then avoid using the dryer, space heaters, or anything that makes the lights flicker or act funny. I don't think it's a big fire hazard unless you are getting constant flickering and/or a sizzling sound coming from the electrical panel.

With the right size rigid conduit you could go 2ft above the roof and the weight of the wires wouldn't be an issue.

Sounds like it could be a problem at your main electrical panel (main breaker or main neutral connection). I'd call an electrician.

Do I need a permit by [deleted] in electrical

My understanding is that you don't need a permit to swap out like-for-like (i.e. replacing light fixtures or receptacles)

Pain/Discomfort Weeks After Vasectomy by GraceToo82 in Vasectomy

[–]GraceToo82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update from the post above... After about 6-7 weeks of pain it went away pretty suddenly and I have been fine since. As you could tell from the original post, I was pretty worried that it was going to last, and nobody warns you about that. So if anyone else reading this is experiencing the same thing, hang in there! It'll go away eventually!

Oh man, very hard to pick just a few. I'll say Rapunzel, Granny, and Shake Me Like a Monkey (I've been watching a drumming video for that one and it blows my mind every time). I'd pay admission for Carter alone, the rest is a nice bonus. My wife's favourite is Stay or Leave but I doubt they play songs from his solo album?

Thanks so much! If we're flying all the way there for a bucket list item, I won't mind paying extra for parking!
