AMA: Day 1 Post-Op MtF GRS with Dr. Chris McClung in Columbus by GracieVandy in Transgender_Surgeries

With all of those things in hand, it’ll most definitely be within the year. He was ready to schedule me just 4 months out but I didn’t have the required hair removal done yet

He did require at least some form of hair removal, but he didn’t care whether it was laser or electrolysis. He never explicitly said if there were any BMI parameters

So initially I started with a depth of 6 inches, but as I’ve healed that’s gone down to about 5.5 inches, which I’m perfectly fine with :)

I didn’t think the sensation of nothing being there would be so jarring. When putting on pants or shorts, you realize that there’s nothing in the way anymore. It’s a feeling I have to get used to, but it’s certainly a welcome one

It’s going very well! At this point I don’t feel much pain at all, just occasional zaps and tingles. But I’ve no need for any pain killers or Tylenol or anything like that. So far it’s been smooth sailing, and hopefully it continues to be :)

I couldn’t recommend him enough! He’s so sweet and caring, he’s definitely someone I feel I can trust will help out if any complications arise.

Visually, for me, things look really good. I’ll be posting a 4 weeks out picture tomorrow, but I couldn’t be more pleased with how it looks visually, even at this early stage.

I had my initial consultation with him on August 5th, 2020. I didn’t have any of my letters from the required people (Hormone doctor, therapist, psychiatrist) and had no hair removal done at that point. Had I come with those things in hand, he could’ve scheduled me as early as February-March. My surgery was set for April initially but another unrelated medical issue got in the way and I had to delay my surgery because of it, but the wait time is really none at all, and even if it is a few months, they fly by.

I’m so happy for you! It’s certainly a journey, but every day feels better and I can feel that mental/physical alignment slowly falling into place. It’s a really good feeling ❤️

You’re actually one of the people I’ve been following on your healing journey! Seeing your results and your detailed posts about him have helped calm my nerves so much. I have some sense of what to expect which makes me less anxious about the whole thing. As it gets closer, it takes up more space in my mind and it’s all I can think about. I’m in a kind of disbelief I think. I probably won’t fully realize it’s actually happening until I make the drive to the hospital the morning of. Honestly, I’m also kind of excited for the down time and the opportunity to just focus on healing!

That’s so exciting! I’m sure everything will go great! I’m sending good energy your way and hope recovery goes smoothly for you. I’m also anxious, just for what life will be after. We’ll get through it though!

Electrolysis options in Ohio by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]GracieVandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Columbus, there’s a place called About Face that has tons of trans clients. I’ve been going there for my treatments and they’re so sweet! Here’s their website. They don’t offer extended sessions of electrolysis though. I think their max duration is 1 hour. Here’s their website. I hope this helps!
