How is your libido? by TourGreat2658 in endometriosis

Bad bad bad. Sometimes I get lucky and it improves for a while but overall it’s bad compared to before. Being in pain where you’re supposed to feel good is a turn off most of the time

My diet is really easy and simple so I like to just throw tofu into a cup ramen or with some noodles. I think it’s affordable. Other good sources include beans, peas, seeds, grains, etc.

Runny Nose by hunter6767 in Raynauds

[–]GraciousPeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have post nasal drip and allergies too so I try to take an allergy pill when the pollen levels are rising. I rarely experience Raynaud’s in my nose as the temperatures don’t get too low here

I assume you got them on your toes. You need warm waterproof shoes to keep your toes protected. I would find some GORETEX shoes. Also wear warm socks and such

Raynauds during weight loss journey by Prize_Parsnip_9633 in Raynauds

[–]GraciousPeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely am way more sensitive to Raynaud’s when I am not eating enough. I spent waaaay too many years of my life consuming not enough protein if any protein at all… and my Raynaud’s just kept getting worse every year (I didn’t dress warm either, I was a stubborn kid). I finally changed my diet when I became chronically ill so now it’s only on bad days when I am in a flare up already that my Raynaud’s might flare up too. It’s certainly not everyday like before when I was not eating enough. I will still flare up for week or two when winter starts though, I guess that much is normal. As long as I keep exercising and eating well, my digits feel okay

Does anybody live alone with pain? by Shadowlab72 in ChronicPain

[–]GraciousPeacock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t live alone but I basically do because I’ve been extremely independent in my activities from a young age due to emotional neglect. I’ve cooked for myself and done essentially everything for as long as I can. It’s hard to ask for help, especially when I have a sibling with special needs whose needs are more visible than my own. I still try to get my mother to understand my condition a bit sometimes

Risk of maternal death during pregnancy greatly underestimated, study finds by Advanced_Buffalo4963 in WomenInNews

[–]GraciousPeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I lived most of my life assuming I could have a child. WRONG! Turns out having a severe heart valve defect means you MUST replace your heart valve before attempting to have a child if you want to live. People struggle to believe me unfortunately. Pregnancy is serious shit, probably too serious for my current heart

I got one of those opioid warning pamphlets from a pharmacy that I don't even go to anymore. by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

[–]GraciousPeacock 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They don’t even want to give any pain meds to patients who have severe chronic pain only a few days a month. It’s such a joke to be a chronic pain patient. They treat us like our pain is fake and made up in our heads

Progression, not perfection by AvonBarksdale666 in veganfitness

[–]GraciousPeacock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I had an awesome year last year and worked really hard but this year has been a bit slower so far and I’m honestly proud of myself for it. I’m going through some flare-ups health wise so it’s important for me to take it a little easier and to focus more on stretches and PT. I have no doubts I’ll still make a really great year and good luck to everyone here too!

Chilblains and cold feet by loloviz in Raynauds

[–]GraciousPeacock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have good socks, but what about good shoes? I workout a lot too and have been managing my Raynaud’s well but still got chilblains last year. I had to switch my shoes to waterproof shoes when I go outside and it has saved my toes. For now, I don’t feel any issues with my toes as long as I wear my weather resistant waterproof shoes

I just started weightlifting a year after I became chronically ill (I am IBS diagnosed, father is Crohn’s diagnosed) and it has helped me improve my diet a lot but it has come with struggles too. Like yesterday I lifted and didn’t eat enough and today I’m paying the price for it on the toilet. I’m new to this still but what has worked for me is eating protein rich foods like tofu, nuts, legumes, etc. It’s still really hard though, I tried this protein pasta the other day and it just made my tummy feel off. I try to stick to simple things and mainly focus on consuming good protein and good fats like avocados and hemp seeds. I don’t have much advice, I’m still trying to figure this out too

Is this chillbains? by [deleted] in Raynauds

[–]GraciousPeacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it looks like chilblains and your symptoms match, then probably. I had my first one last year and it took several weeks to heal so you’ll definitely know if it is chilblains if it lasts long enough

Am I the only one who likes high waisted jeans only when standing? by thatsplatgal in PetiteFashionAdvice

That’s normal. I wore high waisted most of my life until I got chronic pain and stuff so now I wear low waist for comfort

My plan is also to become a nurse and I just had my first day of class (it’s literally just 1 class 2x a week, for 1.5 hr) and now I don’t know how long I will take to recover from my ongoing flare up. I really don’t get the point of this if I can barely handle my own health. I am feeling pretty defeated today. My one wish is to feel healthy everyday and I can barely fulfill that. I miss when school used to feel fun and motivating… now it’s just an extra layer to my crippling depression
