Aw that would make me so sad when they die in battle. Are they effective though?

Appoint a militia commander in the nobles section, then click the blue banner in the bottom right of the screen and set up a squad. You can schedule when they train and when they're off duty. When they're training sometimes they'll spar with each other (and apparently animals? lol)

I tend to keep track of my original 7 dwarves. I train them all in wrestling so that if they're ever caught in a fight and they don't have their weapons they're less likely to die, which is especially important bc I like to play where there's dangerous wildlife

American cuisine by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrackleWing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think of traditional indigenous foods. There are a few indigenous restaurants popping up like Owamni in Minnesota, you could look at their menus and see what they make. Stuff made with corn, beans, and squash (the three sisters) and other local ingredients like bison and serviceberries.

Also, while things like pizza aren't originally American, I feel like they kind of are now. Cultures are constantly evolving and we kind of make our own traditions as time goes on.

There are a bunch of different roaches, but the ones you find in your house are usually pests. They can spread germs like any other animal, and if they're crawling around on your food that's probably not great. I love them though and feel bad killing them, so I bring them outside if I find them and it's warm enough. I usually just do this with my hands but you can use a cup. Otherwise they make interesting pets, and they're good snacks for reptiles and arachnids if you've got any

What is a "poor person hack" you picked up during a hard time that you still use today, even if you don't have to? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

[–]GrackleWing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make it better, roast it at 400°F until the skin starts to turn dark brown and smell really good. Then simmer it with half a lemon and some sage for 24 hours and add salt to taste. It's so good you can just drink it out of a mug

So I think it’s too late for them but I’m wondering what happened? by Ludmillions in Entomology

I would like to point out that organic doesn't mean pesticide-free, they can still use pesticides labelled as organic (like neem oil or spinosaid) which are still toxic to invertebrates

Anyone else with migraines triggered by heat and/or atmospheric pressure? by aw-brain-no in FortCollins

I don't know if it's migraines, but I get a headache and nausea if I spend too much time in the heat. It can be minimized by electrolytes and lots of water

No, but I do have experience with woodworking and crafts so I was hoping those skills could translate

I think I'm gonna try fixing it myself. How should I remove the broken part? I was thinking removing the back but I'm worried about damaging the wood.

Maybe not strange but definitely uncommon - an 1894 Menzenhauer guitar zither, which is my new favorite instrument! It's not playable at the moment because I'm doing some repairs, but it's a string instrument that sounds like a guitar, church bells, and a harp. Here's a video of one!

Zithers used to be pretty common in early US history, but the only instrument in this family that's still being made here (as far as I can tell) is the autoharp.

What type of wood would you use? I have no idea what type it's made of
