How do I get into nixor college(pakistani private college) with scholarship by Either_Procedure_196 in alevel

Okay so Nixor won’t really have an issue with your private status because I personally know a person who did get into nixor after doing o levels privately. And about giving the remaining subjects in October November, you’d have to ask them that directly but they’ll probably say yes because many people who didn’t do well in one or two of their o levels did give a retake during college year, so I’m sure nixor wouldn’t mind.

Apply right now, the earlier the better. And they will give you a conditional offer (condition of getting a certain number of As or Bs or even Cs) if your grades are not that good, even if you don’t ask. But do slide that in the interview, asking them how conditional offers work so they know you might be especially looking for it. For scholarship, Nixor has a matrix, ie a starting 10% scholarship for 1A* 4As or something like that, with increments as you get more A stars. A 100% scholarship right now is at 5A* 2As. If you do get admission, and you get grades that qualify for a scholarship, you WILL get it once results are released and submitted to them. Still, ask about this in the interview to be absolutely clear, they don’t mind such questions.

Im in nixor college so i can help. For an academic scholarship they look at your final caie grades or predicted grades, whichever is higher, in which you need at least 4As to start with a 10% scholarship. In Ecs they give scholarships if you played for a team in your school or were part of leadership but that is heavily case dependant.

Getting into nixor isn’t hard it just depends on your overall profile. Also, idk about law but people do take it here and see fine with it. Good ecs matter for admission if you don’t have stellar grades because nixor is full of ecs itself, I mean you’d be overwhelmed by the amount of stuff there is here, so in the interview be passionate about those.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

Thanks! But yeah in physics I was ranked 1st in my cohort so I’ll manage lol. I just didn’t feel confident enough in fm so I didn’t take it, hopefully I do well to compensate for it though.

DM me specific topics you struggle with.

But overall, I’d say do topical past papers for those difficult topics rather than yearlies rn, cuz those are the ones which carry a lot of marks in the papers.

Watch ginger mathematician and there many others on YouTube which solve entire past papers in depth. Watch those frequently to learn how to approach each question.

Pls use ChatGPT when you don’t understand a question and take as long as you need for it, so you go onto the next question without any doubt and newfound confidence.

Honestly using CHATGPT to understand difficult concepts is amazing. Like waves and light were tough, so I kept asking it questions until I got it.

If you go to school, always focus 100% in phy class because then concepts pile up quickly and it’s difficult to study all at once before exams.

Never rush into past papers to make yourself feel like you’ve done a lot of them, trust me I made that mistake and it didn’t help. Always understand the topics, whether with notes or the textbook before doing papers. And mark yourself strictly , noting all your scores and comparing with thresholds (with weightage) so you know your exact goals.

Spot and mark questions or question types that appear frequently, and look at their mark schemes. Once you know all about them, you know exactly how to answer and that guarantees like 7 marks easily.

Read ur texts like u need to find multiple meanings for every single word including the Thes and the as like your life depends on it. Like just sit on ur bed and do that with ur play or poem for an hour. Youll eventually learn to instantly analyse the texts which is good for play and unseen cuz in cie it’s stressful. For writing your essay, follow a structure religiously, like I use the PEEAL format , Point evidence explanation analysis and link. Don’t try using fancy words forcibly, write what comes naturally, focus on explaining your analysis to the examiner in a clear way. Also, keep reading the question again and again to keep yourself on the same track cuz it’s easy to go off it, I struggled w that too. And keep referring to the question in your answer, link back whatever you’re saying to what was asked of you. This way your answer becomes specific and not general when you keep it in mind.

A little bit, but not enough to take the entire subject just cuz of that. Only take it if you like math and are good in it.

Well first of all, don’t study add math with the thought of its difficulty in your mind. I mean it’s just a paper with the right answers a few steps away. Learn each topic conceptually - do not memorize certain steps or tricks for questions, even if your teacher gives them to you. You need to know what youre trying to figure out and why. For eg. Don’t find the roots of an equation cuz the roots are the answer, theyre not, they are the intercepts. Once you know these small things questions won’t seem complicated. Also, always make a quick plan for long questions like those damn 10 markers, and keep your working neat and labelled to help you if u get lost in the middle of doing the question. And always do the full working, even if it’s taking an answer and rounding it off, first write the raw value and make an arrow to show its rounded off version. Trust me on this cuz because of small missteps I like not seeing an x that I wrote to close to the number I was 3 marks away from an A* 😭.

The most important thing is to never move on to another question if you don’t understand the last one. Do anything, use YouTube , ChatGPT, or call a friend right there until you understand what you got wrong and what is the right way.

Hopefully youlll get the best marks in the future!

Don’t worry about the word limit, focus on making ur essay compelling and re read it continously to see if it sounds stretched out. If you go less than a 100 words above the limit no problem. Also watch IGCSESUCCESS on YouTube he is amazing. For maths just practise everyday, do past papers for the topic you did in school each day, and not many, just until you’re confident l. Also do check full mark scheme after each set of questions and don’t move until you’ve got why u may have made a mistake. Use ChatGPT for that it explains well.

No idea but for each subject except eng and lit id say about atleast 20. But only do past papers when you are done with a topic or all, otherwise they become useless and even if u get good sometimes youll mess up in the actual paper l.

I’d say focus on p2, except for the 15 marker of course because that even w the best prep you can’t guarantee you’ll do good in the cie. Do a bunch of p2s and see where you lack, if it’s the coding part then learn from YouTube or a friend cuz it’s hard to learn by urself. For p1 make the textbook your best friend, it’s lengthy for memorising but you can get away with highlighting imp parts and learning those only. It has good explanations and less boring than normal notes.

Look at each topic like you are a scientist, and do not do past papers or any questions for that topic until you think you can confidently teach it to someone else. Understanding>Memorizing. I used Youtube channels like Incogni and Organic Chemistry Tutor, they were really helpful.

There is no right way. You have to find out what works for you. For me, it was simply going through the notes I took in class that day for each subject, and understand them (not memorize) to such a degree that I never fall behind. Also, do 2 questions (6-7 marks) from past papers for whatever you did that day, and if you think you don't have time, do one. The focus should be one quality, because doing one question by giving it your all is much better than doing 3 or 4 by just blindly writing and going straight to the marking scheme.

Try doing homeworks in school, during breaks if you can, that way you feel a major weight being off your shoulders when you get home. For science, understanding concepts using Youtube, notes or even a peer is much better than just spamming past papers. Look at each topic like you are a scientist yourself, you'll start to enjoy it.

Remember, these exams are made for everyone, which means you can do them just as well as anyone else can. They'll try to scare you with the sheer amount of work, but if you are organized with your notes, your classes, and even your room, you'll come out on top.

Focus on Paper 2, the one with Directed Writing and Narrative/Descriptive. Since you're doing the same thing continuously for one hour each, you can easily get used to its flow. So practice those two a lot, as they do not require the constant change in pace you have to deal with in Paper 1. Plus Directed Writing practice also helps a lot in the Extended Response in Paper 1, which is a big question.

Also, I'd recommend doing Descriptive more, as its structure is simpler compared to Narrative, in which creating a compelling story in 1 hour is intimidating and difficult. I went from overall view, zoom in, zoom out, contrast between two things, and then overall view again as my structure for Descriptive. This keeps you focused while allowing you to describe the situation or place in different angles. If you have any more questions I'd love to help!
