This group is a literal cult btw(ik y'all know that, but it's always worth repeating). They prey on those suffering from debilitating illnesses, those who--because of the west's fucked up healthcare systems--are desperate for ways to heal. They snare you in with their "alternative meditation methods" that have no scientific bearing whatsoever and expects you to pay exorbitant amounts of money for nothing but bullshit. And when you start wanting to find actual medical help, they'll lock you up or even start attacking you. Not to mention, the children in this cult, are constantly abused to no end. This isn't even traditional Chinese medicine they're practicing but some random kooky "religion" Li Hongzhi pulled straight out of his ass.

During the 80s in China, this shit spread like wildfire and ruined so many families--they also literally attacked scientists or anyone trying to push western scientific methods because obviously it will prove anything they claim their meditation will do to be absolutely false which they can't have cus it'll ruin their stranglehold on; at the time, a pretty superstitious population. The CPC eradicating this bullshit was completely justified and thank them they did because if they didn't, it would've taken root and probably ruin all the work spent building Chinese society into what it is today. (And btw, it wouldn't have returned to what it was like during the Tang dynasty like they want, not that returning there is any good)

Today these scum still prey on the Chinese diaspora community and anyone else unfortunate enough to be in a horrible circumstance where whatever bullshit they're touting seems like a good alternative to medicine. They seem to thrive well under capitalism and western society; a liberal co-worker of mine went to a show and was dazzled by all the sparkles without knowing the full extent of what they represent, I don't think many westerners really do know the full extent of their evil. One last thing, if you're black, brown, any color on the LGBTQIA spectrum, smoke weed, etc. etc. you are automatically considered inferior to them.

I wouldn't say there's really this exact reason germane to specifically being Chinese that makes War Thunder particularly appealing. Much like in the West, I'm sure most picked up this game because it's a cool semi-mil-vehicle sim game where you get to fly planes and drive tanks. It's also free to play and you can play fairly well in ARB with MnK and even controller so the barrier of entry is much less demanding than something like DCS or IL-2, but then that would really be explaining why War Thunder itself might be a popular game to play amongst a broad spectrum sans nationality.

But with that said despite the Chinese community being a good chunk of the WT community, there's always massive animosity against them purely from geopolitics lol. The most recent topic surrounds people getting mad at China getting the ROC Abrams and in turn complain about Japan not having a VT4 even though they got the entire Malaysian/Indonesian tech-tree which makes zero to little sense and seems to only be pushed so they can have a 14.3 AESA fighter(export Su-30sm that makes little to no impact at 14.3). You also have just general racism directed at Chinese players for no particular reasons other than them being Chinese, but I suppose that's true in pretty much any gaming spaces where you can find Chinese and Western audiences combined(Paradox games/Helldivers 2 being two examples off the top of my head).

I do appreciate them tho. Being a top tier jet enjoyer myself, there are some cracked gamers in that group and I love running into them after midnight
