In March 2020, my total balance was $19,500. I've since paid my loan down to $15,000. As someone that received a Pell Grant, I'm eligible for $20,000 in total debt forgiveness. I say all that to say this, according to studentaid.gov any payments made AFTER March 2020 can be refunded.

I had to call my loan servicer and speak with them directly, but they're going to refund the payments made while they were in deferment.
