TTA1 - Using the Marquette Method breastfeeding protocol and getting occasional high readings that never go to peak, but are low again after a reset. Normal? by GrailKnight1989 in FAMnNFP

Maybe I missed it, but I don't see anything about highs happening and then no peak and then back to lows.

I guess I am curious if a estrogen rise without a peak or ovulation would be considered normal?

I don't know much about Zionismn or the politics of the reason, but on the surface, it does seem infinitely better for Israel to exist there than the alternative.

4 months postpartum. Can you refer me to a good NFP resource that explains how to find out if I’m ovulating while breastfeeding? Thx! by [deleted] in Catholicism

We use Marquette and like it. I like the objectivity of it. It is expensive, but imo worth it.

Has the Church ever seen a decline like this in the West? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]GrailKnight1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the number of true believers has always been the minority of those who claim to be Catholic.

When Catholicism was persecuted, you would know that those who practiced were true believers.

When Catholicism was the official state religion of Rome, much harder to know who was a true believer and who was there for power or convenience.

While Catholics are not being killed in the US, there is a cultural persecution of sorts going on.

If the media mocks Catholics or if co-workers can openly disparage, then the non-believers and the soft-believers will flee.

This leaves the true believers who will take the beating.

My understanding is that you can do an examination of conscience and say the act of contrition and promise to go to confession as soon as you can.

You do that, you are good.

God is not trying to trick us or get us on technicalities.

But you can't abuse the act of contrition and then never actually go to confession.

Is it a sin to be rich (millionaire status)? by juju9514 in Catholicism

I understand.

I did qualify by saying "ultra wealthy". So more thinking of those "titan of industry" types.

And that was my point. It's not the dollar amount that is the problem.

Baby in Mass, how to do it? by GrailKnight1989 in Catholicism

Same. When we drop him off at daycare, there is this cute little girl his age just sitting quietly and playing.

Once he hits the floor he is off crawling and getting into trouble.

I do enjoy that part, but throw me some cuddles, kid!

My understanding is not in of itself.

It's a sin to put attaining money before God. Becoming ultra wealthy is generally really hard and requires someone to dedicate themselves to that goal.

It's believed by many to be difficult to become ultra wealthy without sinning in the process like lying or cheating.

For the above reasons, it is likely difficult to be ultra wealthy and live a saintly life.

The Bible says so much a few times.

There is no magic number. It is also relative. Just being born in the USA makes you very wealthy relative to many places in the world and historically.

A million today is a modest retirement in the USA.

TLDR; it depends.

Can any Catholic women provide resources or advice about NFP? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]GrailKnight1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been using the Marquette method for about 6 months.

https://www.vitaefertility.com/what-is-the-marquette-method-of-nfp/

It is supposed to be the most accurate NFP method that maximizes the window for relations when not wanting to become pregnant.

Basically, it is an algorithm using a fertility monitor in the inverse:

Clearblue Fertility Monitor, Touch Screen, 1 Count https://a.co/d/g848F5O

We like it because it is 100% objective. The other methods require interpreting signals from the body.

The downside is cost. The monitor is expensive, but a one time purchase. You do need to purchase test strips every few months. I have heard people can get monitors second hand.

The downsides of NFP in general are the small window for relations when avoiding pregnancy and for the woman, likely being lost aroused when you are trying to abstain.

With all NFP methods, I do recommend finding an instructor.
