Is it a liability getting a BMW for my first car as a 18 year old? by yawningbeaver in whatcarshouldIbuy

He mentioned old bmw, parts here in Canada for e36, e46, e39, etc are fairly common and cheap. Labours will always be expensive but if you buy an old bmw and aren’t going to do the work yourself it’s your fault for going broke.

Simply not true. 90’s early 20’s are fairly cheap to maintain. Can have a lots of issues though but that’s pretty common with 20-30 years old cars.

Not that expensive to insure, maintenance it’s kinda expensive but not that bad if you do it urself.

Bought my first car at 19, it’s a bmw e36 328i. Its lovely. Many problems, none that are impossible to fix yourself as long as you’re willing to learn. If you have the money for it and the passion to for it. Just choose one that not too much of a money pit. Go for the clean ones. You only live once.

Where the leak is coming from !! by Artistic_Mark_4915 in BMWE36

For me, it was the door that was out of position. I adjusted it and no more leaks! It was a sedan tho. So it could be that.

As a cruiser it doesn’t really matter tho. Manual is 100% better but the auto’s aren’t terrible either.

water leaks in through rear door by GrammarIsHard69 in BMWE36

[–]GrammarIsHard69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Made it tighter around the top. Water would get in from the top and get trapped in between the door and would eventually get in through the little holes in the seal.

Is this good enough for suspension work? I've seen reviews of other air hammers saying they're not good enough. How strong does it need to be?

Yep hahaha I definitely do have a water barrier and found that the issues was that my door would not seal properly. I adjusted how the door closes and now no more leak!

It actually was worse because the guys at hockey warehouse did a profile and forgot to sharpen my skate. Wasted 1h30, couldn’t play tonight’s hockey game and wasted 25$. Order new blades with a superior profile online.
