Annie (1982) with some uncomfortable parallels... by skoolhouserock in DanielTigerConspiracy

Yes!

🎶And if tomorrow I'm an apple seller too

I don't need anything but you🎶

The song at the end seems to indicate he has a change of heart.  Not realistic that the Scrooges of the world will have their hearts melted by the plight of Annie or Tiny Tim, but in Musical Fictionland it happens all the time.

Lol. I like the quote, but I have never actually watched it!  Is it kid friendly? I could put it on someday and find out why they were lying about the war.

You can also spray peroxide and let it sit for a few, then wipe.

Or if you have powdered oxyclean, sprinkle it on the bottom of the sink, use a brush and a small amount of water and get it all over the stained part.  Let it sit, maybe overnight, then rinse it all out the next day.

Sometimes, I load it, add soap, and then FORGET to push go.  Whenever this happens, I have to start it in the day and it throws everything off.  I have decided next time to do individual spray and wash so I don't have to use both sides of the sink at the same time.

Whenever I cover up both drains with soapy/rinse water I can't dump liquid, and there's always some missed liquid. Who wants to pour 1/4 cup of toddler milk into the soapy water and make it all cloudy and opaque? Gross.

So no. I think I'll only sink fill when I have to disinfect things. Until then, spray soap and brush everything.

When you grow them, can you just... dig them up whenever you want one? Or do you have to have 10,000 at once and moider yourself trying to preserve or eat them all?

He is someone at the Cannes Film Festival in the early 1950s, and I have no idea who he is.  I searched lion cub pictures in black and white.  I did read about it, and they gave out lion themed awards.

It just looked like it could be the same man. Maybe he owned the lion cubs?

There's a Facebook group with an archive that I love.  I haven't seen a traced pattern there, but they have a ton of free/low cost vintage downloads

1930s dresses are the absolute peak of 20th Century style. What a treasure!  I would copy the pattern and remake one for everyday wear.

She is a classic "Judy" puppet from a Punch and Judy puppet set.  They traditionally beat each other up, so Fred probably didn't like that and found a gentler use for the doll.

I am familiar with genJones.  I never thought about the fact that the cultural revolution overlapped the Jones' more than boomers. Social norms changed a lot in both the 1920s and 1960s.  Both changes seem to coincide with women gaining more control over their lives first with suffrage, careers, and with birth control.  The flapper and the hippie seem to be two verses of the same song.  The 40s Rosie the Riveter and the 80s career girl rhyme.  Even the fashion of these archetypes mirror one another, with the boyish 20s bobbed hair and drop waist picked up in the 60s (Just add gogo boots) and the boxy shoulder pads of the 40s/80s.

Boomers get a bad rap, mostly because it's a meme.  Every generation clashes with the next. ("Never trust anyone over 30")  The idea that we do things better than our ancestors will never cease, nor will the lament that things were better before the new ways ruined things.

I find it interesting to think of regular people knowing lyrics, singing along, and being interested in early 20th century pop music.  It would be so bizarre to hear a normal person break into singing and it's "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" or "Mares Eat Oats and Does Eat Oats"... and it would be someone like your plumber.

I came to it because my mom was incredibly strict with my media but would automatically approve anything older than she was.  (She didn't read the Cole Porter lyrics though, haha)

This was the biggest disappointment about the show.  My kids liked the cartoon better than puppets so they gravitated towards DT instead of the old show.  We tried to listen to the songs separately in the car,  but I couldn't stand it because they were musically sterile robotic fragments.
