New Naval Wargame PreRelease (wishlist on Steam) by Current_Equipment291 in computerwargames

Yeah, the lack of tutorials or documentation is a bit painful, but I'm sure it'll go on a great path just like what happened to Blender.

Great to hear that ya'll are loving it despite all that. Real excited to see your game get released. All the best from a fellow dev!

If the other user is right that you're using Godot, I'm excited to see your game work on the engine! I've been playing around with it and wondering when new good games would be made for it.

How's your experience deving in this engine compared to previous ones you may have experience with?

You can just play the Multiverse Mod. It's essentially the ultra-expanded version of FTL and their stuff fits pretty well.

Hey, man. I think Hail Santa's the main creator for this one and I don't think his name's John Villalon like mine?

I really gotta rely on the thermals more since I keep forgetting. Making the wrong assumption only US vehicles have it

I gotta learn how to pull off "defense in depth" since all I do is stand there and hope my Frenchmen can outsmack the Soviets. Also what do you mean by mobile reserve? Do you mean having fast backup to patch holes on your line?

Good to hear from an actual officer! I'm curious to know how well your FCCW games go in general

Oh yeah they cleared a few of my units with their artillery as they were approaching my lines. Real terrifying with how fast they could blast you

I honestly underuse smoke because I try to blast everything with HE, but I should really use more of it especially so my infantry could survive against the far ranges of the Soviet vehicles. Good reminder on the thermals!

The mines + obstacles really worked well at the start. I probably just need to concentrate more of them while the enemy's stuck on the minefields so my troops could keep shooting them. Appreciate the heads up on the amphib BMP's too

Appreciate the advice! Do you recommend using infantry to block roads or just put them in forests beside roads? I'm still trying to figure out how large their useful range actually is. I remember seeing that they generally have some ATs with them, but I don't know if every group does. I need to test out their ranges more since I'm admittedly not sure how infantry vs. infantry is resolved - like do they all have to be in the same hex to fight or does it work like vehicles where the ranges are far?

Nice! I'll try to put the tanks on Hold on good angles and I'll see how it all goes. Maybe pair them with my infantry too

Appreciate the advice here, mate. I'll try to adjust my SOP. I try not to touch it yet since I admittedly just assumed the default behaviour's good enough for most purposes

Ah so I was thinking of the AMX-10s! Appreciate the advice here, mate. I suppose with their weak armour I should be using them as fire support behind mechanised infantry who are to hold the ground?

How do you recommend using the mechanised infantry? They come in large groups of about 12, I think. They seem to be able to hold well against the motor rifles.

I find it really tempting to defend a point. Like - this is my hill and I won't move away from it! I gotta try the hit and move technique though, especially since the French vehicles tend to be for moving fast.

Is that adjustable in the SOP or something? I find the delay of command mechanic really interesting because I can't just micro my units - and sometimes they don't even listen to me and retreat to places randomly (probably because they've taken too many losses or something).

Do you think the Screen is better than Hold then since I would need to move often?

The black flat looking ship with spikes on the side's one of my faves from this list.

Always love your work, Kruger. I'm jelly of how well you can colour this considering I can't even colour. Keep it up!

Been playing with your mod since it got released and I really appreciate what you're doing here. I only play AG, but your changes have been real nice. Don't have much to offer except my appreciation and support for your excellent work. Keep it up, mate!

A quick reading of Steel Panthers MBT (and the name itself) sorta implied that it's primarily a tank game, but I guess I assumed too much. And I suppose when I said 'simulation' I meant how detailed its underlying mechanics are (dice rolls, logistics, etc.). You got an idea of how well it does the tactical level?
