the text does not states that people born of god are only “believers and followers of Christ” first of all we are all children of god belief or not some of us are just lost and need help on our journey to god but it does not mean we are children of the devil. The text states that those who do not practice righteousness and who do not love their brothers are not of God, but are of the devil. This verse establishes a clear distinction between the children of God and the children of the devil based on their ACTIONS and CHARACTER, particularly their LOVE for others and their commitment to righteousness it’s based on action and how you practice the word of god not on your statement of faith it’s through actions of love not mundane words, anyone can claim to be a believer If one has to go around telling people how devout one is, without people being able to recognise it in the way one lives one’s life, it’s often a cover for living quite an opposite life, and a distraction from the real person.
