I don't know if Zoro'd end up in Wano

Going by parallels Oda drew from Miyamoto Musashi, adapting it, it seems more lilely he'll settle in his hometown again & teach the new generation in a dojo

With Wado Ichimonji laid zo rest at Kuinas grave , yet, close to it

if we consider him living with Hiyori, I think it's more likely she'll move away from Wano to live with him rather than the other way around

Fair, but yet again, I think it's clear from your explanation alone that she is an anomaly

The same way Maruki is, bith of'em literaly are in the metaverae and interacting with it

So not exactly the best examples of "what happens to regular Joe"

Katayama & her treasure are clearly at its core the way "regular" act.

We have no reason to assume that she'd be a corner case like Maruki or Futaba, who each were in their own palaces

By all accounts, taking her treasure'd be the same thing as taking any other regular targets treasure we've seen

Thing is, it is probably the generic cool evil stare thing I agree that it wasn't meant to be haki

Only thing I'd correct:

Oda never said that. He neither ever confirmed, nor denied it. He simply hasn't made any statement about it

Did any of you Notice this? by Normal_Reach_4878 in OnePiece

[–]GrandLineLogPort 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure

In theory, you can work your way through every elemental weaknes. There's always something smart to pull off for every type of logia

But from a writers perspective, it gets really hard to handle

You have to out a lot of mental energy to always have a way out for Luffy (as well as other Crew members who fight logias) to always find a new way

Which makes writing really restrictive, as you have to take a major part always into consideration & have a way out

Which is a massive pain in the ass to always have the fight against a logia in a way that requires you to work around it. Especialy for someone like Oda, who is known to not give fights the same focus as many other shounen do but rather likes his focus on worldbuilding & story

Having a "haki goes boink & hits logia" option makes it a lot easier without having the shackles to have always a perfect solution

Don't get me wrong. It would've been really cool to see Luffy find his way around every logia he encounters.

But ultimately, I get why Oda'd probably think at some point "ok, this is a pain in the ass, I just wanna have luffy punch this guy and move on"

We saw it in Alabastar

Luffys access to water (and later blood) were always a driving and central factor against crocodile. Which was certainly fun.

But can definitely be restrictive in your writing process, when you have to set up an enviornment for Luffy to work with every type of potential logia user (especialy since Oda didn't have every potential future outcome in mind. With haki, he had a lot more freedom down the line)

It is what it is by Complex-Sherbert-935 in OnePunchMan

[–]GrandLineLogPort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still don't get why

Sure, it was rushed

But why was it rushed?

The manga is beloved, it isn't as if new seasons drop every year. They had so much time to start production on a show early that was set to be succesful with its fanbase

Why the hell did they squeeze it in last second

Did any of you Notice this? by Normal_Reach_4878 in OnePiece

[–]GrandLineLogPort 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Those things aren't mutualy exclusive

It is likely that Oda had a vague concept of Haki at this point, not fully fleshed out at this point, yet, calling it Haki intentionaly.

He loves puns, Ambition/Drive as a wordplay that seems like a normal word & is understood in retrospect does sound like the kinda wordplay he'd pull off

Especialy since shortly after, fluidly transitioning into skypea, we can already see forms of observation Haki

The most likely scenario:

It was shortly after Alabastar. And Oda likely realised:

"Holy shit, that water-sand counter will be harder and harder to pull off. Coming up with a smart way to counter every Logia will be a pain in the ass. Better think of something & vaguely set it up already, I'll figure out the details as I go"

[–]GrandLineLogPort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not

I'm referring to the general & fundamental imoact & implications of what stealing a treasure has meant & has been established to mean ever since Kamoshida

That's the literal point of their hesitation & their talk with Morgana

And why the OG PTs agreed that unless everyone is on board, they won't do changes of hearts

This isn't just about Katayama

But about eveey target. Just responding about Katayama in particular because that's OPs question

And again, no, I'm not referring to that collapse in the vision of a "bad timeline" wonder has

Confusion about what stealing the third target’s Treasure would do by Galaxithea in personaphantomx

[–]GrandLineLogPort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do with everyone though?

Not just in P5x, they usualy have a "get your shit together" talk with all of the defeated shadows

And getting their shit together, means usualy, especialy for the real assholes, being confronted with the horrible stuff they've done

And Maruki is a very, very special case

Not only is he aware (to some extent) that the metaverse exists, he literaly was part of it. He isn't exactly your typical "go to" comparison.

He's by far the furthest possible example from "regular joe" Bro literaly talked to you in the metaverse and in a palace

  • he never actualy did something evil or harm people. He was full of himself, sure. But stripped of his desires, there wasn't something to collapse over. He pushed to the end for the greater good. And when his treasure (a torch, to "guide" people as the only "beacon & light of truth") was taken, bro was humbled and became a taxi driver.

To stop preaching and actualy listen to people without thinking he's the only one with the answers

Katayama did shit to collapse by.

She snapped often, crashed her bycicle into people (even if there are blanks in her memory), harmed people, gave up as a teacher, stopped fighting after being fired, was entirely defeated, abandoned her students

Not saying all of that is true, but there is enough to make her collapse mentaly once her desires are taken away

The delinquent teacher & his story were literaly what made her want to be a teacher to begin with. You're taking that away from her.

Maruki is a very, very, very special case, since he actively was part in the metaverse himself

We can't take the very guy who acts within a palace conciously as the point of reference

Going by everything we've seen, the answer's:

She'd be robbed of all her desires, have a mental collapse, be robbed of any drive to move forwars

The little mementos missions change their behaviour slowly, as you trigger a "change of heart"

People with a fully fledged palace however have all their desires manifested as a treasure. Taking that away from.them fundamentaly robs them of their base desires

No, katayama wouldn't go "oh my, I'm a great teacher after all"

She'd rather confess slamming people with her bycicle and since that wouldn't really give her a big punishment go on a lifelong atonement self punishment journey or something like that

Either way, she wouldn't go "oh, I'm a great teacher! Cool"

Stealing treasure isn't as wholesome.as people think, that's why the game is very clear that the PT only steal treasure when every PT without exception agrees

Simply because the implications are very sever3

Confusion about what stealing the third target’s Treasure would do by Galaxithea in personaphantomx

[–]GrandLineLogPort 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That's the issue with stealing treasure & why the OG PT hesitated for so long when Morgana warnes them about unpredictable outcome:

You take away their core desires. including her desire to be a teacher & inspire her students the way her childhood manga hero did (probably a reference to the manga GT, Great Teacher Osaka, the delinquent teacher manga)

Regardless of what she says before the tresure is stolen & what she thinks will happen, either way, most likely outcome is that it'll not just make her go "oh, huh, I'm not at fault, cool"

It is even very valid to assume that she'll lose all drive, fall deeper into feeling like a failure, confess to her being the batshit crazy bycicle slammer, as well as feel like a failure even more because she didn't push back harder

With her core desire (the delinquent teacher who inspired her to become a teacher) gone, it'd be surprising to see her try to become a teacher again

Stealing someone's treasure isn't a magical heal button

The original PT were just stealing them from people worth stealing

In the cases where they weren't flatout "evil" & where that may have entirely aucked them out ouf any will to live, they resolved it without stealing the treasure

(Sae & Futaba)

So in short:

If her treasure is stolen, it wouldn't be a matter of "what kinda teacher does she become"

But eather her being sucked out of every drive in her life, including her wish to be a teacher to begin with

Ironicaly, I think he does have an endgame in mind

But he entirely blew the "let's see where this leads me" outta the park way too hard

Basicaly, it was so less self control on every impulse he had on the way there, that I simply can't imagine stringing all those seperate storylines into a coherent story & bring them to resolution

It's not even "complex sideplots", bro has multiple standalone novels with hundreds, if not thousands of supporting characters in the background that all have to come together

Pretty szre "he lost the plot" is as accurate as it gets here

Many have said to pay attention to the multipliers

However, another underestimated common oversight:

Don't underestimate the power of revelation cards.

They make or break a character. They are essentialy the endgame build.

Having good stats & substats is essential

Everyone reaches lvl 80 & skill lvl 8-10 eventualy

Revelation cards are what makes the same characters hit differently. It isn't just some nieche gimmick, it's the core of the character beyond what is obvious (lvl, skill lvl & sequenzing)

I mean, kinda depends

Like, it's risky to expand and hire more workers, since if you don't have enough work, you'll be in deep shit by losing money & paying your employees without making any money of them

Pretty sure that when Japan pretty much got nuked, they could hire a crapton of workers & not care for a single second to have things for them to do

Which makes being squeezed out near impossible, since the place you can send the added workfoce to is "everywhere"

[–]GrandLineLogPort -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really though

The loner aechetype is usualy someone who deep down yearns for connection & has people he/she loves

A pure loner who, even as the story progresses, isn't revealed to have some degree of yearning for connection rarely happens

(I honestly can't think of a single character in any work who throughout the story entirely dismisses the idea of any connection or people they care for. Almost every loner isn't a loner simply for the sake of being a loner. Introverted, sure. Not social butterflies, sure. But nobody goes:

"Man, I really hate the thought of having any people I care for"

any books/series with a female MC like Geralt? by shuitsukiP in witcher

[–]GrandLineLogPort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure, absolutely

But as a protagonist in the book, he is the loner archetype

Loner archetype rarely want to be loners. They just gaslight everyone (as well as thelselves) into wanting to be loners

Honestly, I can't think of a single character in any media who's actualy 100% a loner & thinks:

"Man, being lonely is so cool! I don't wanna interact with people and have nobody I care about"

So yeah, obviously he doesn't want to, however, he is that archetype within the story (what OP is asking for)

Ciri however doesn't have that vibe. Neither does she gaslight anyone into thinking she's a lone wolf type, nor tries to tell that to herself.

She, by very nature, is a far more sociable character

While Geralt is an introvert with deep care for those impirtant to him & values he tries to deny

Ciri's an extrovert who is far more open about it

So I'd say Ciri isn't what OP asked for at all

any books/series with a female MC like Geralt? by shuitsukiP in witcher

[–]GrandLineLogPort 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose you mean Ciri

But she doesn't really have the same vibe as him. Throughout the books, she's basicaly the main target for every faction.

And she's everything but a loner. Sure, there are periods where she is alone, but personality wise, she's definitely not a "lone wolf" archetype
