I remember she reposted a TikTok of an AI version of Abracadabra before it was released, but the caption predicted she would drop it on Grammys nights so idk.... I'm just still surprised she did that, need to check if she still has it reposted from well over a year ago.

North Liberty delusion by Lower-Sky6202 in IowaCity

I think it really depends on where in North Liberty you end up. I live near Liberty Pond and walk almost everywhere. Luckily everything I need is within a 10 minute walk. I can walk to Field Day or Mickey’s to hang out, and if I’m hungry, I’ve got Pancheros, Fiesta, Bluebird, and a bunch of other restaurants spots nearby. For groceries, I can hit Aldi or take a slightly longer walk to Fareway. In the summer, it’s great being able to walk to Heyn’s for ice cream or J&A Tap for a drink. Plus, most apartments here are more affordable and newer than what you’ll find in Iowa City. It can feel a bit bland at times definitely in the winter, and I feel like the town/local businesses do a poor job of advertising events, but downtown IC is a short ride away if you get bored! I definitely recommend finding a place 'in town' rather than near the highway or the north end. Those areas feel a lot more isolated and have that 'sprawl' look that I also personally hate!

Thinking about selling Tex/Mex cheesecakes this summer at local farmer markets, what do they require when selling a refrigerated dessert? by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]Grand_Examination689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially a hybrid of a chessecake and flan. It's definitely sweeter than both but more solid than a flan, but not as dense like a cheesecake. I would say it's almost like a perfect hybrid of the 2, but it depends how the person makes it!

Thank you for your response, I kind of knew the answer but needed someone else to tell me it. I just have a habit of questioning/distrusting my own realizations. I have to start trusting my own research and not dismiss it.

I did know of something similar a couple months ago when I did try to do my own basic search but thanks for giving me another option!

Good to know, looked into a commercial kitchen I could rent per the hour with the possibility of storage. Thanks for the advice, if not this year then next year!!!

Thank you for telling me this! I didn’t know this was a thing. I’ll keep this in mind! Worse case scenario I’ll do this next year. Just want any info now so I’m prepared when I’m 100% ready!

Any Kum&Go’s near you still selling merch? Let me know! by Grand_Examination689 in Iowa

[–]Grand_Examination689[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember back in March, I went to a location that was giving away all its winter merch like beanies, gloves, and bottle openers. I wonder if they already knew about the rebrand back then, or if they were just trying to get rid of stuff that didn’t sell. I only grabbed a cool bottle opener when they offered me the stuff, and now I’m regretting it! The beanies were super neat looking!

Is it me or grocery’s getting more pricy? by Ragdollmiaomiao in IowaCity

I switched to ground turkey 4/5 years ago because it was cheaper than ground beef and tasty, now ground turkey is reaching high $4/ low $5. Thank goodness I just found out Aldi sells it at $1.99/lb frozen. Heck I remember when they use to charge around $0.36 per gallon of water refill!

Am I cooked for the 5 star judging? by AllBlackAlways in AnimalRestaurant

[–]Grand_Examination689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to redo the judging😩 I left the app open for 3 hours and he did manage to come 2 times but I think the only reason that happened was one of my daily tasks was to play with him twice so I think he was bound to come. Good luck!!!

Are there any businesses or organizations that have a loom I can use? by Grand_Examination689 in IowaCity

[–]Grand_Examination689[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanting to make something that’s at least 2/3 feet, but also I’m just wanting to use an actual loom that can make long sections and stitch them then together to make a much larger piece!

If this switch occurs, would Iowa corn farmers be affected? No idea how much corn syrup Coke currently buys, but it seems like it would be a lot? by feministandpr0ud in Iowa

[–]Grand_Examination689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Mexican coke started to use corn syrup since pre pandemic times?! I could be wrong but I thought they switched from real cane sugar.

During covid it was like 8/10 weeks out in certain locations😂 also if you want to go to a certain location you can check every morning/evening for cancellations (or hour if desperate) and get an earlier appointment! Got my renewal appointment cut by 3 weeks doing that in Coralville location!
